capital disc jockey Chris Stark disclosed that he’s been diagnosed with testicular cancer but stated he is now considered “essentially in remission.
The Capital Breakfast Show co-host, along with Jordan North and Sian Welby, recently shared on Instagram that he was diagnosed with an illness about two months back. His message urged all men to routinely examine their health.
Approximately two months ago, following a regular visit to my local physician, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Soon after, I underwent surgery and have since taken a break from broadcasting on radio and podcasts for the past couple of weeks as I’ve been receiving chemotherapy to minimize any potential recurrence.
As a fellow enthusiast, I’m eager to pass along an important discovery that left me feeling quite embarrassed for not having noticed it earlier. Despite being successfully treated due to early detection, I can’t help but express my hope that this information might encourage someone else to perform a self-check or seek medical advice if they have any doubts about potential symptoms.
If detected early, this type of cancer is highly treatable and is more prevalent in men between the ages of 18 and 49. I realize discussing this can be uncomfortable, but I’m ready to take a stand on this issue if it makes the conversation less awkward for men or motivates them to perform regular self-examinations, which could potentially save a life.

Previously associated with Scott Mills at BBC Radio 1 until 2022, Stark expresses gratitude towards his “remarkable family” and “talented friends” for motivating him to reveal his personal journey. The disc jockey additionally commends the NHS staff as “extraordinary.
In conclusion, Stark expressed his sympathies towards anyone dealing with cancer, looking forward to returning to the radio with renewed vigor soon.
