Radio 1 star Gemma Cairney, 41, reveals she’s pregnant with her second child as she shares sweet snap of her baby bump

Gemma Gairney has announced she is expecting her second child.

The BBC Radio 1 presenter announced she’s expecting a baby by posting a cute picture of her baby bump on Instagram Monday night.

Gemma, 41, gave birth to her first child in August 2024 and is now expecting another baby with her partner, Cameron McAllister.

The presenter shared a revealing photo on social media of herself sunbathing with her top pulled up, exposing her stomach. The picture was captioned with the phrase, ‘together we sunbathe ‘n dream.’

Other former Radio 1 presenters congratulated the person on their new role, with Fearne Cotton posting several heart emojis in response to the announcement.

Dawn O’Porter wrote: ‘I want to kiss that belly so bad’.

Gemma revealed she and Cameron welcomed their first baby in August 2024, sharing a photo of the new family on Instagram.

Gemma announced the arrival of her baby, sharing that they were born two weeks ago and expressing overwhelming love for their new child.

Honestly, the past two weeks have been a whirlwind! It’s been this incredible mix of joy, gratitude, and just…life happening. There were moments of pure happiness, times I felt deeply moved, and even a few tears. It was intense, a little chaotic, and absolutely unforgettable – a truly special period I’ll cherish.

‘I can’t offer enough thanks to our friends / kin, midwives, soothsayers, staunch support!’

She continued: ‘Never ever felt love like this. We are a fresh fam of 3, yipeeeeeeeee.’

Gemma received lots of congratulatory messages from her fans and friends in the entertainment industry after her post.

Music legend Annie Lennox commented: ‘Heartfelt congratulations Mama Gemma!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.’

Radio personality Fearne Cotton expressed her love and support, writing, “❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Heaven❤️❤️❤️❤️ sending so much love to you gorgeous woman.”

Gemma has been keeping her followers updated with her pregnancy in recent months on Instagram.

Two months prior, the glowing mother-to-be cradled her bump while posing in a glam black dress.

She shared a message about body acceptance, writing that our bodies are amazing and expressing her admiration for both her own and everyone else’s.

Last May, she posted a photo of herself, a shadowy figure looking down at her baby bump.

She celebrated the natural changes in her body, writing, ‘Bodies are amazing – I’m so impressed with mine and everyone else’s!’

She penned: ‘What an extraordinary time. Making, growing, connecting.’

Gemma and Cameron met in Malawi. Cameron runs a small coffee business there, buying beans directly from local farmers.

Gemma began her broadcasting career at Kiss FM and Channel 4 Radio before joining the BBC. She then became a part of Radio 1Xtra in 2008.

Oh my gosh, she’s hosted Glastonbury! Glastonbury! And can you believe she used to do her own show every weekday afternoon? Back in 2011, I was glued to the radio – it was the best part of my day! Seriously, she’s just incredible.

Originally from Birmingham but now living in Scotland, the presenter has also created radio documentaries and founded a thriving production company.
