Rachel Riley stalker hell: Countdown star targeted by convicted stalker who accused her of being the ‘ringleader of a cult of celebrities’

A court has reported that Rachel Riley, a well-known countdown presenter, became the target of a person previously convicted for stalking. This individual allegedly accused her of leading a secret cult involving various celebrities.

In a more conversational style, it could be rephrased as: Felicity Lowde, a 59-year-old resident of Chelsea, west London, frequently mentioned the television personality and alleged that she, along with JK Rowling, Stephen Fry, and Katie Hopkins, were involved in a ‘global conspiracy’ on multiple blog posts.

In simpler terms, it was alleged that Ms. Riley was masterminding this situation through a hidden strategy on social media platforms. Additionally, she was accused of having an unusual fascination or preoccupation with toilets. Interestingly, a similar accusation about an uncommon interest in toilets was also made against Piers Morgan in court earlier this year by Lowde.

In the City of London Magistrates’ Court, it emerged that Lowde allegedly claimed that Ms. Riley was involved in acts of genocide, which he suggested were related to her Jewish faith during the ongoing dispute in Gaza, according to reports from The Sun.

Previously incarcerated for stalking a survivor of the London Bombings, I attempted to file a lawsuit against Ms. Riley last year. My allegations included claims that she was exploiting my creative work and family history, as well as misappropriating my personal identity.

After Ms. Riley notified the authorities about the 59-year-old, they eventually sought a restraining order against him for harassment due to stalking, acting on her behalf.

According to a news report, Dr Ian Cole, the chair of the magistrates, informed Lowde (who has previously been convicted for stalking and harassment) that the situation had caused Ms. Riley to feel concerned about her own safety.

It was stated that Lowde is permanently prohibited from communicating with or referencing Ms. Riley on social media, and may be imprisoned if this restriction is violated.

Six months later, following remarks by Mr Morgan that compared Lowde to a persistent pursuer like the character from Netflix’s Baby Reindeer, he found himself in court defending himself against similar allegations made by Lowde – much like the situation involving Ms Riley.

The journalist, aged 60, said her claims of abuse and harassment were a ‘complete fantasy’.

During that period, Lowde had initiated 64 lawsuits, some of which targeted numerous well-known personalities. One such lawsuit alleged that Mr. Morgan had stolen the identity of his brother.

In January, Mr. Morgan successfully defended his company’s case against Lowde, and the personal case filed against him was dismissed following his online defense efforts as well.

In simpler terms, the previous host of Good Morning Britain found himself compelled to defend himself and his company in court, following a court contact.

If he hadn’t acted, it might have led to a legal proceeding, potentially resulting in a ruling against him personally or his business. He thinks this was Lowde’s intention all along.

Lowde was instructed to compensate Mr. Morgan with £6,000 in damages, yet he stated that he had no anticipation of receiving any of that sum.

In my perspective, she behaves similarly to a persistent Baby Reindeer. I’ve observed her actions and find them unsettling. It’s essential to understand that such behavior can affect anyone, regardless of their public status. The consequences can be profoundly personal and far-reaching, whether one is in the limelight or not.

In a sworn declaration before the judge, it came to light that not only was she targeted by him, but also well-known figures such as TV personalities, comedians, and activists like JK Rowling had previously spoken out against her too.

He stated: “It’s naturally disquieting for individuals under public scrutiny when they receive such harassing correspondence.

‘You never quite know whether the person is a threat or not.

It’s important to exercise caution around such individuals, as their behavior suggests they may pose a potential danger, which is something I personally prefer to avoid.

This individual is a stalker who has been found guilty, and they targeted a survivor of a terrorist attack. It’s challenging to conceive of something more reprehensible.

‘I’ve got security, but you can’t live like a hermit and let that stuff get in your head.’

Mr. Morgan urged the courts to halt Mr. Lowde from continuously filing lawsuits targeting prominent individuals.

As a dedicated follower, I would advise her to consider seeking these opportunities by applying for ‘fee remission’, a benefit often extended to applicants based on their financial situation.

He made clear that for her, the expense associated with filing the claims would essentially be negligible. However, he noted that this isn’t always true for other defendants, as they often incur costs when going through the court process.
