Rachael Ray, 57, makes a rare public sighting amid concerns about her health

Rachael Ray made a rare public sighting in New York City on Wednesday morning.

The 57-year-old chef was wearing a brown leather jacket over a brown t-shirt, paired with dark chocolate brown slacks and gold-toned boots. She had a touch of light makeup on.

The television personality was going to a recording of The Drew Barrymore Show to demonstrate a recipe to Drew Barrymore herself.

This comes amid concerns about her health as she has not seemed to be her self lately.

Ray posted a video on Instagram for Mother’s Day that worried her fans. She appeared to be struggling to speak clearly and needed to lean on the stove for support.

Last October, Ray mentioned she’d had a couple of falls while bringing in firewood. However, it turns out that wasn’t the whole truth.

Oh my gosh, I heard from a really good source – someone who *knows* – that Ray’s family is seriously worried about her. They’re just beside themselves with concern, and honestly, it breaks my heart to think about it. It’s been circulating for a while now, I first heard whispers back in May, and I’ve been so anxious ever since!

Friends of Rachael are worried about her. She’s become very withdrawn and is keeping to herself. People who try to connect with her haven’t heard back, and she seems troubled. Those who know her well have noticed a significant change – she used to be very careful about how she looked, but now she doesn’t seem to care, which suggests something more serious is going on.

Recent career challenges have added to her difficulties. Her popular cooking show, *The Rachael Ray Show*, which aired for 17 seasons starting in 2006, ended in 2023. She then introduced a new show, *Meals in Minutes*, in April 2024, and the third season was released in May.

However, the cancellation of the show that made her name no doubt came as a blow.

According to a source who spoke with the Daily Mail, Ray has been struggling since the show finished. The show was incredibly important to her – it was something she was very proud of and a huge part of her life for years.

In New York this June, the cook hosted an event where fans could meet her and get bottles of her gin, ‘Staple Gin,’ signed.

The event, held at Broadway Spirits in Manhattan, didn’t start as well as expected, despite a lot of early buzz on social media. An insider told the Daily Mail that only about 20 fans were waiting in line when the signing was scheduled to begin.

What’s even more frustrating, according to our source, is that the fans who paid $50 each for tickets were then left waiting in the 80-degree heat for Ray to arrive.

According to a source, she arrived 20 minutes late, but seemed happy and waved to fans, thanking them for being there.

For $50, attendees were promised a chance to meet the former Food Network star, receive a signed bottle of her gin, and get their picture taken with her.

Fans, in groups of four, entered Broadway Spirits to find Ray waiting with a display of her Staple Gin. This gin is made in the Catskills region of New York and was first released last August.

According to our sources, the celebrity seemed strange and acted unusually while meeting fans and giving them gifts of her gin and baseball caps.

According to a source, she became unusually affectionate with people, hugging them tightly while taking pictures, similar to how Drew Barrymore greets guests on her talk show.

To make matters worse, the event ended in under an hour because so few people showed up.

Okay, so the meet-and-greet was *supposed* to go from 1 to 3, but I was checking with someone who was there, and they said that about halfway through, the line just… disappeared! Can you believe it? It’s like everyone got to meet them so quickly, or… I don’t know! It’s just so weird to think there wasn’t a line! I was so hoping to be there, and to hear that is just… amazing, honestly.

According to a source, people were approached outside by event staff who were informing them that Rachael Ray would be signing bottles.

Although some people were underwhelmed by the event, another source reported to the Daily Mail that it was a great success.

Ray’s friend, Bob Harper – known from shows like The Biggest Loser and The Traitors – unexpectedly showed up!

According to a source, Rachael made a point of personally connecting with every guest who responded, taking the time to learn about them, sign autographs, and take pictures. The source described her as sincerely kind and approachable, qualities she’s known for.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Ray’s representative for comment.
