R6 esports in 2026: Roadmap confirms two Majors and more

Rainbow Six Siege X has announced the 2026 competitive schedule. Throughout the year, players will compete in various tournaments, highlighted by several major events.

We updated our game, Siege X, this year and tested some new ideas in esports. Looking ahead to 2026, Rainbow Six Siege is making further changes to its competitive scene, and the community is responding well.

R6 Siege X esports calendar in 2026: Roadmap revealed

Although we don’t yet know where the major tournaments will be held, the 2026 Rainbow Six Siege esports plan gives us a good idea of what to expect from the competitive season.

Two Majors and the R6 Esports World Cup 2026

Rainbow Six Siege players have quickly noticed that 2025 will bring back two Majors each year. The first event, RE:LO:AD, has a unique format, but many fans seem to prefer the standard way Majors have been run in the past.

  • The first R6 esports Major of 2026 is planned for May.
  • The second Major happens in November.

The 2025 Major in Munich was the standout tournament of the year. In a surprising upset, the North American team M80 won the championship.

The Esports World Cup 2026 hosts a big mid-season tournament for Rainbow Six Siege X. 

  • The R6 EWC 2026 happens in August.

Team Secret emerged victorious at the Rainbow Six Esports World Cup 2025, earning a prize of $750,000 from the total $2 million awarded.

Six Invitational 2027 qualification

The plan for esports in 2026 also gives us a first look at how teams can qualify for the 2027 Six Invitational, which is the world championship for the game Rainbow Six Siege.

  • Teams earn SI qualification points throughout the year. There is no info on direct spots for the Major winners.
  • The R6 Esports World Cup 2026 features the only invite available in the yearly schedule: for the champions.
  • The Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) matches for Six Invitational 2027 happen in December and January.
  • The World Championship itself, Six Invitational 2027, takes place in February.

Consistent flow of competition 

The 2025 esports season will culminate in the Six Invitational 2026. A key benefit of the updated schedule is that tournaments will happen frequently, immediately following the end of each cycle.

  • The Challenger series fires up the off-season period. It’s a chance for lower-tier teams to make it to the top-most level of the official competition.
  • Season Kickoff is a series of regional tournaments, with SI points and May Major qualification at stake.
  • Regional Stages are more classic for R6 esports. They are back in June-July and September-October.

The recent regional competitions have concluded, with championship matches in each league. Immediately following those events, Rainbow Six Siege X released new cosmetic bundles, some of which celebrate the winning teams. The latest bundles feature items inspired by Spacestation Gaming and CAG Osaka.

Beyond sharing the esports schedule, Rainbow Six Siege needs to announce its plans for future content updates in 2026. The latest season, Year 10 Season 4, included a revamped Operator, updated maps, and helpful training features. The developers have committed to tackling cheaters and responding to player feedback, and it will be important to see if they deliver on those promises.
