Quincy Jones cause of death revealed after music icon's passing aged 91

As a devoted fan, I can barely express my profound admiration for the legendary Quincy Jones – a man who transcended the boundaries of music and showbiz like no other. His death has left an indelible void in our hearts, but his timeless contributions will continue to resonate for generations to come.

Quincy Jones’ cause of death has been revealed 10 days after the music icon’s passing aged 91.

According to documents from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, obtained by TMZ, it was confirmed that super producer Jones passed away due to pancreatic cancer.

Nothing else appeared to have played a role in his demise. The duration of Jones’s cancer fight remains unknown.

Jones was responsible for creating the Thriller album by Michael Jackson, and worked together with musicians such as Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles on various projects.

It was confirmed that he died, surrounded by loved ones, at his residence in the Bel Air region of Los Angeles, California on November 3, as reported by his representative Arnold Robinson.

Quincy Jones, who was known as the father of Rashida Jones (an actress famous for playing Karen Filippelli in The Office), has passed away, according to his family. They released a statement expressing their deep sorrow.

The day prior to his passing, Jones posted a heartfelt message on Instagram for his daughter Martina, affectionately known as ‘Tina’. He shared a picture of them both smiling brightly. His caption read: ‘Happy Birthday, my dear Tina Beena! So filled with pride to be your papa! Big hug and I love you infinitely.’

Additionally, while we deeply mourn his departure as a tremendous blow to our family, we take solace in honoring the extraordinary life he led. There will truly never be another individual quite like him.

Besides Rashida, the affectionately nicknamed ‘Q’ – or Jones – is also survived by his daughters Jolie Levine, Rachel, Martina, Kidada, and Kenya Kinski-Jones; son Quincy Jones III; brother Richard; and sisters Theresa Frank and Margie Jay.

Yesterday, Jones’s last Instagram post celebrated his daughter Martina, affectionately known as ‘Tina’, on her birthday. He shared a picture of them both grinning happily. The caption read: ‘Happy Birthday to my beloved Tina! So filled with pride to be your dad! A big hug and I love you, forever and always.’

In the realm of entertainment, Jones climbed high within the industry, being among the initial successful black executives in Hollywood. He accumulated an exceptional collection of music.

As a devoted disciple of music, I’ve had the privilege to embark on tours alongside Count Basie and Lionel Hampton, lent my arranging skills for the legendary Frank Sinatra and the inimitable Ella Fitzgerald, and composed the soundtracks for iconic productions like Roots and In The Heat Of The Night.

In 1985, Jones was responsible for planning and executing President Bill Clinton’s initial inauguration festivities, as well as coordinating the all-star production of “We Are The World” to aid Africa’s famine relief efforts.

Lionel Richie, a collaborator on “We Are the World” and one of its performing artists, often refers to Quincy Jones as the “master conductor.

It is most probable that he will be chiefly recognized for his collaborative works with Jackson. His adaptability and creativity played a significant role in highlighting Jackson’s abilities, guiding him from a child prodigy to the revered ‘King of Pop.’

On iconic songs like “Billie Jean” and “Don’t Stop ‘Till You Get Enough”, Jones and Jackson skillfully combined elements from disco, funk, rock, pop, R&B, jazz, and African chants to create a universal musical landscape.

In the creation of ‘Thriller,’ several striking elements were devised by Jones. He was instrumental in having Eddie Van Halen perform a guitar solo on the fusion of genres known as ‘Beat It.’ Furthermore, he introduced Vincent Price to provide a spooky voiceover for the theme song itself.

In 1983, ‘Thriller’ surpassed 20 million copies sold and has been in competition with the Eagles’ ‘Greatest Hits 1971-1975’ for the title of one of the highest-selling albums ever made.
