This crime thriller marks the famous director’s first full-length movie, and you can watch it for free on ITVX and Tubi, with ads.

If you don’t use or like those services, you can also watch it with a Disney+ subscription.

While some have compared it to Martin Scorsese’s Mean Streets, it’s more similar to his Goodfellas or Stanley Kubrick’s The Killing, and even early works by the gangster films of Jean-Luc Godard. The film clearly draws inspiration from many sources, but ultimately feels completely original.

It’s notable that when the film was first released, even renowned critic Roger Ebert pointed out the characters spent a lot of time talking – a criticism that’s followed Quentin Tarantino’s work consistently ever since.
