Queen’s lead guitarist Brian May rules out band ever touring the US again because it’s ‘too dangerous’

According to Queen’s lead guitarist Brian May, the band has no plans to tour the US again due to safety concerns.

Queen last toured with Adam Lambert in 2020, and if they tour again, they won’t be including the United States on their schedule.

Brian, age 78, shared with the Daily Mail that he and his wife enjoy America, but it’s changed considerably since they used to tour there, and they don’t think returning would be a good idea now.

Guitarist Sir Brian May recently told Richard Eden that the current situation in the United States makes it a potentially unsafe place to be, and that’s something people should consider.

It’s disheartening to see how things have changed in America, a place Queen and I both grew up loving. Right now, many people are hesitant to visit.

Brian recently shared that he won’t be performing at Glastonbury because he disagrees with the event’s organizers on political issues.

This news will likely be welcomed by his wife, Anita Dobson, who had previously asked him to stop touring after 26 years of marriage, simply saying, ‘I want him home.’

Brian May, a dedicated animal rights advocate, established the Save Me Trust to protect foxes and badgers.

He stepped down from his role as vice president of the RSPCA because he was deeply concerned about the poor animal welfare conditions on farms that were approved by the organization’s certification program.

They told the Daily Mail it’s because of issues with the festival organizers – basically, they don’t agree with how things are being run. They made it clear they won’t perform unless that changes, and honestly, I respect them for sticking to their principles.

I strongly disagree with badger baiting, which some people consider a sport. We’ve worked for years to protect these animals, and they continue to be killed, hindering our conservation efforts.

The popular music festival isn’t happening this year, but its founder, 90-year-old Sir Michael Eavis – who also runs a dairy farm – has previously criticized activist Brian for what he sees as a threat to farming. This criticism stemmed from Brian’s opposition to a program designed to control the spread of bovine tuberculosis by culling badgers.

The lead guitarist said they’d never even discussed the possibility of working with the band, explaining they already knew his stance on the matter.

Since 2012, Brian May and Roger Taylor from the band Queen have been performing with Adam Lambert, who rose to fame on American Idol, and they’ve been calling themselves Queen + Adam Lambert.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, he said he’s unsure when Queen will perform live again, stating they’re taking things one day at a time and will assess the situation as it evolves.

Sir Brian suggested a break was needed to focus on family and reflect on things, implying new music will follow.
