Quavo Is Making His Cannes Film Festival Debut
Following Kid Cudi’s announcement that his short film Neverland will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, Quavo is now joining the ranks of rappers participating in prestigious film festivals. For the first time, Quavo’s action thriller movie, Takeover, directed by Greg Jonkajtys and co-starring Billy Zane, will be shown at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
According to a recent press release, the movie narrates the story of Guy Miller, a former parolee, portrayed by Quavo, as he strives to rebuild his life.
The plot of the film revolves around Guy Miller (Quavo), an ex-convict trying to put his past behind him, only to find himself dragged back into Atlanta’s treacherous street racing scene. To stay alive, Miller is forced by criminal mastermind Gamal Akopyan (Zane) to pull off a daring diamond heist with serious consequences.
Other cast members include Serayah, LaMonica Garrett, and Martin Sensmeier.
