Proud Mum Denise Welch Gears Up for Glastonbury as Son Matty Healy Headlines!

Denise Welch shared her joy after learning that her son, a renowned rock star, will be the main act at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

66-year-old celebrity from Loose Women and her former spouse, Tim Healy, aged 73, take great pride in being the parents of Matty Healy, a 35-year-old musician who is the frontman for the pop rock group The 1975.

Announced on Thursday is the news that the creators of Chocolate tunes will headline on Friday at the music festival, which will be held at Somerset’s Worthy Farm in June. They will share the stage with Biffy Clyro and Alanis Morissette among others.

Shortly following the announcement, Denise posted on Instagram an image of the schedule, expressing that she will be attending her initial UK festival, saying: “Looks like I’m off to my first UK music festival!!!!

The television host additionally posted the photo on her Instagram stories, expressing enthusiasm with: “Guess who’s performing as the main act on Friday!! Off to buy some rain boots.

Supporters of the actress, mother to son Louis 24 with Tim, swiftly expressed their enthusiasm for her in the comment section.

One person wrote: ‘This is amazing, I can’t help but feel incredibly proud!’ and another exclaimed: ‘Definitely a proud moment! So thrilling!!!’ (These sentences convey the same sentiment of excitement and pride in response to something impressive.)

At the same time, while Denise is excited about her son’s main stage performance, not all Glastonbury attendees share the same enthusiasm.

Immediately following the announcement of events featuring Olivia Rodrigo, a large number of ticket holders flocked to social media to express their dissatisfaction with the concert lineup.

They strongly asserted that the well-known event had significantly declined, even going as far as to say it was the “least successful” compared to past years.

People who weren’t able to secure tickets during the November sale now feel less concerned about not getting them, after hearing the latest news.

The British pop-rock band, the 1975, along with American pop-punk artist Olivia, are each making their debut as main acts for the first time.

This morning, the official Glastonbury X page posted the following: ‘Behold, we’re revealing the initial lineup for the Glastonbury Festival 2025!’

It added: ‘Many more acts and attractions still to be announced.’ 

1975 has been announced as the main performer for the Friday evening at the Pyramid Stage. On the final night of the event, pop sensation Olivia, who graced the Other Stage in 2022, will take the headlining spot.

On Saturday evening, Canadian musician Neil Young is set to perform, along with artists Charli XCX, Raye, and Doechii.

Denise feels proud following the sharing of a heartwarming Christmas family video on social media. The post featured a video of her son Matty, his partner Gabbriette, and herself enjoying a dance-filled evening together.

In June, Taylor Swift’s former boyfriend Matty, who is now engaged to Gabriette (age 26), appeared affectionate as they participated in some holiday festivities alongside the TV personality, Loose Women host (aged 66).

In black attire, the trio positioned themselves in a triangle, swaying to a reinterpretation of “Last Christmas” as they took pleasure in an excursion to the countryside of Derbyshire.

As she savored a special moment with the trio, the television figure also informed her followers about withdrawing from her forthcoming panto performance. She explained this decision was made because she had experienced some challenging weeks regarding her health.

In her reshared post, Denise mentioned that she’s experienced some challenging health issues over the past few weeks, leading to an unfortunate necessity to cancel her participation in this year’s pantomime – a role she hadn’t taken up for twelve years.
