Bec and Lleyton Hewitt have watched their teenage son follow in his famous father’s footsteps. 

On Saturday at Melbourne Park, both the actress and the tennis champion attended the inaugural Australian Open match of their 16-year-old son, Cruz, from the sidelines.

In the initial round of the boys’ singles competition, Cruz triumphed with a 6-3, 6-3 victory against MooBeen Kim.

Australian former world No. 1 Lleyton was absolutely beside himself as Cruz dominated the court. 

43-year-old showed animated excitement from the audience as Cruz gleefully shouted upon his victory.

Meanwhile, Bec occasionally appeared anxious and other times beamed with joyful exuberance as she navigated the ups and downs of witnessing her son excel.

It is known that Cruz’s father Lleyton, who won Wimbledon, was attracted to the numerous expansive tennis facilities along the coast, which feature a combination of grass, clay, and hardcourt surfaces, as well as the multi-million dollar tennis academy, KDV, situated in Carrara, often referred to as a ‘champion factory’.

The cutting-edge facility, boasting twenty tennis courts, lodging options, fitness centers, a swimming pool, and a practice driving range, is set to function temporarily as Team Hewitt’s headquarters. As Cruz ascends in the global junior circuit, he will find this center instrumental to his progress.

Tennis experts believe Cruz is not only as talented as his renowned father, but potentially even more so at the same stage of their careers. This promising player is undeniably on track to become a true tennis superstar in the future.
