Story Highlights
- Project R.I.S.E has announced the cancellation of its November test titled “Barely Beta”.
- The decision comes after internal tests which revealed major gameplay experience issues.
If you were excited to play the Tower again soon, unfortunately there’s an update. The team working on Project R.I.S.E. has cancelled the planned “Barely Beta” test, which was originally scheduled for November 25, 2025, and they’ve explained the reasons why.
Developers say the current Project R.I.S.E build is not at a level they feel proud sharing
The developers announced on Discord that they’ve decided to delay releasing even a preliminary Beta version of the game. After recent internal testing, they felt the game wasn’t polished enough for release, even in an unfinished state. While they’re usually okay with some glitches and imperfections, this build didn’t meet their quality expectations.

The team clarified this isn’t a minor setback. They explained the issues are significant and go beyond simple bugs – it won’t be enough to just fix a few things quickly. These are core problems with the user experience that require a complete overhaul, not just temporary fixes.
They’ve paused external development to concentrate on improving their internal tools and systems. This means they won’t be releasing a playable version of the product this year, but it’s a necessary step before they can move towards a beta test and eventual launch.
This new update comes several months after our January Alpha Test. While many of you were eagerly anticipating the Barely Beta – especially after a ten-month wait – the developers have decided to hold off on releasing it. They want to ensure the final product is something they’re truly proud of and that you’ll enjoy.
Supercell’s newer games are facing challenges. After shutting down Squad Busters and with mo.co still under development and potentially at risk of cancellation like Squad Busters, their other project, R.I.S.E., also seems to be falling behind schedule.
It’s good to see the team is focusing on building a solid base rather than trying to quickly release something unfinished. I’ll share more information as it becomes available.
