Series one of Citadel had six episodes.
In March 2023, just a month before its initial release, it was confirmed that Citadel would return for a second season. Additionally, it was revealed that the Russo brothers would be responsible for directing every episode.
Principal filming for the main series kicked off in January 2021 and was completed by December 2022. Yet, additional shoots took place in both early and mid-2022 under the watchful eye of creator David Weil, along with the Russos and Thomas Sigel, who directed the first season.
