Priscilla Presley reveals Elvis once phoned her while in bed with Robert Kardashian at 2 a.m.

Priscilla Presley says a surprising event happened when she was dating Robert Kardashian: Elvis Presley called her in the middle of the night, around 2 a.m., unexpectedly connecting her new relationship with her past.

In her new memoir, titled *Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis*, 80-year-old Priscilla Presley shares a story about Elvis unexpectedly calling late one night, not realizing she was in bed with another man.

Honestly, if Elvis had found out Robert was in my room, I think he would have completely lost it – maybe even used his guns. He *always* had a loaded weapon on him, and sometimes he carried more than one, so it was a scary thought.

Priscilla started dating Kardashian in 1975. This came after her divorce from Elvis in 1973 and a later relationship with karate instructor Mike Stone had ended.

The lawyer, who married Kris Jenner in 1978 and later divorced in 1991, had a significant impact on her life.

‘Robert was a sweet man, and I liked him,’ she said of their romance.

Honestly, it was his career, you know? Being a high-powered Hollywood lawyer meant *crazy* hours. It wasn’t that he didn’t care, but those long days definitely put a strain on things between us. It was hard, seeing him so consumed by work, and it really took a toll on our relationship. I just wish he could have found a better balance, but that job… it demanded everything.

According to Joni Migdal, a friend of Robert Kardashian, Priscilla brought a lot of joy to his life, as detailed in Jerry Oppenheimer’s 2017 book, *The Kardashians: An American Drama*.

‘He wanted to marry her and have children with her. That was definitely his hope, his plan.’

People close to Kardashian remembered him mentioning that Elvis frequently called late at night, and sometimes didn’t make much sense on the phone.

Apparently, Priscilla would put her phone on the pillow while she and Robert were together, allowing him to overhear private talks with her ex-husband.

You know, I’ve heard some interesting things over the years, and this one from a friend of the Kardashians, Larry Kraines, really stuck with me. He apparently said that Elvis Presley just wouldn’t let Priscilla have any independence – that he was constantly controlling her. It’s a sad reminder that even with fame and fortune, unhealthy dynamics can still exist.

Kardashian reportedly told someone that Elvis Presley didn’t approve of her dating, as they shared a daughter, Lisa Marie.

The singer died in 1977 at 42, while Lisa Marie passed away in 2023 at 54.

Despite the tension, Priscilla insisted she and Kardashian remained close. 

Before he passed away from cancer in 2003, his daughter, Kim Kardashian, called him from the hospital for a final conversation.

Priscilla wrote that she had a final conversation with Robert before his death. She described him as a very kind man and said she remembered him fondly.

Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis will be released on September 23.
