Priscilla Presley called out for ‘hurtful’ behavior in letter from granddaughter Riley Keough amid legal fight

Fresh insights are surfacing regarding the deep-seated discord, which appears to be a source of contention, between Priscilla Presley and her granddaughter, Riley Keough, as Priscilla engages in a legal dispute with her ex-business associates.

A recently disclosed letter from Keough reveals that she wrote about feeling ‘hurtful’ due to Presley taking her to court over the inheritance dispute involving Lisa Marie Presley’s estate. This letter is now part of a lawsuit filed by Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko against Presley.

The amended complaint filed by Kruse and Fialko (as reported by the Daily Mail) incorporates the complete letter written by the actress, who is 36 years old.

Representatives from The Daily Mail have attempted to get a comment from Presley, however, they haven’t heard back yet.

In a regrettable turn of events, Nona, I find myself compelled to safeguard my mother’s desires in a legal and public setting, which was never my preferred course. It’s incredibly painful that despite my efforts over the years to mend your and my mother’s estranged relationship and reunite our family, you have chosen to involve me, of all people, in a courtroom dispute.

In January 2023, Lisa Marie Presley passed away following complications from weight loss surgery that led to a blockage in her digestive system.

Keough asserted that she had been a champion for and shielded her grandmother from lawsuits that her deceased mother had intended to bring forth against her. Furthermore, she stated that she had always striven to maintain an environment where everyone acted out of love.

According to Keough’s letter, she stated that only a few weeks prior to her mother’s passing, she wished to file another lawsuit against Presley, and he reached out to her for assistance on the matter.

The actress from the movie Zola asserted that she argued with Lisa Marie so intensely, which ultimately resulted in a heated disagreement or argument between them.

Keough noted that she initially listened to him, and now you’re being sued by her. At the time, and even now, he felt that family members should avoid litigation, but unfortunately, this situation has arisen.

Instead of jumping straight to discussing Lisa Marie’s will, she argued that Presley should have allowed more time for the entire family to grieve her passing first.

In a heart-wrenching manner, Keough expressed that it was painful for her to receive phone calls regarding her mother’s will just hours after she had passed away, as well as receiving legal emails prior to the burial of her mother.

Within days after my grandmother passed away, I was unfortunately in a situation where I had to quickly locate a lawyer to act on behalf of me, my sisters, and honor my grandmother’s wishes. However, I believe it’s possible that Presley’s legal team may have advised her to take those actions.

However, it’s important for you to understand that the path you’ve chosen may unintentionally distance our family even more, which I find quite unfortunate. My wish is that someone might be giving you misguided advice, and this decision isn’t truly yours.”

This paraphrase maintains the original message but presents it in a more conversational and empathetic tone.

The actress later asserted that Presley was attempting to minimize rumors about their 2016 dispute with her, which prompted Lisa Marie to oust her mother from the Promenade Trust and appoint Priscilla Presley’s daughter and brother instead.

According to Keough, if your reason for attempting to remove him from the estate is that you claim to have forgotten about the disagreement over the promenade trust and finances, it doesn’t add up because at the time of your mother’s death, you were still estranged from her due to the very same dispute.

Currently, I find myself compelled to take legal action to safeguard my mother’s interests and honor her wishes regarding her estate, a course that contradicts my nature, as you are well aware,” she summarized.

The distribution of the letter coincides with renewed allegations about legal measures taken by Presley against her former partner, Elvis Presley in 1977, being a potential factor leading up to his demise.

Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko, once Presley’s business partners, claim in their revised lawsuit that a lien Presley created on Graceland prior to Elvis’ death played a significant role in his demise – claims vigorously disputed by her lawyer Marty Singer, who likened them to baseless conspiracy theories.

The revised fraud and breach of contract lawsuit portrays Presley as a cunning snake, ready to exploit her own family members. Additionally, it alleges that she manipulated her lien to pressure her late former father-in-law Vernon (who was reportedly weak and near death) into making her a co-executor of Graceland.

In response to the recent allegations, Presley’s attorney dismissively labeled them as both ‘preposterous’ and ‘ludicrous,’ according to a statement acquired by Daily Mail.

Marty claims that Priscilla wasn’t involved in the assassination of JFK, hasn’t hidden any secrets about Area 51, didn’t deceive us with the moon landing, and doesn’t harbor Bigfoot in a Canadian cabin under secrecy.

He goes on to say, “Put aside your tinfoil hat and acknowledge the truth.” The lawsuit he’s referring to involves accusations made by Ms. Presley against Ms. Kruse (along with her associates). She claims that Ms. Kruse embarked on a persistent and manipulative scheme of elder abuse and fraud, intending to seize control over Ms. Presley’s financial affairs for personal gain.

Ms. Kruse’s accusations seem unreasonable and reprehensible, but sadly, they aren’t shocking. Ms. Presley is determined to make Ms. Kruse and her accomplices accountable for their unjust actions.

Jordan Matthews from Holtz Matthews LLP, the lawyer representing both Kruse and Fialko, responded to Singer through a statement given to People: ‘It seems that Ms. Presley’s defense strategy is to make unsubstantiated, exaggerated statements. The documents clearly show the truth. So far, Ms. Presley has provided no evidence for her sensational allegations, and we will be taking action against her for irresponsible conduct.’

In a joint statement, Presley and Riley Keough, her granddaughter, categorically refuted the recent accusations as both unfounded and deeply painful.

In response to the recent accusations made by Brigette Kruse, we want to clarify that these statements are not only false but also highly offensive. Our family has always been bonded by love and mutual respect.” – Riley and Priscilla stated in a released statement to People.

Maintaining respect for Lisa Marie’s memory and upholding Elvis’ heritage with grace continues to be our top concern. We won’t let external opinions create discord among us or weaken the strong family ties that bind us.

Recently, new records indicate that Elvis Presley allegedly put a claim of approximately half a million dollars on his Memphis mansion a few months prior to his passing. The financial strain this lien supposedly caused might have contributed significantly to his eventual demise.

As an ardent admirer looking back at history, I can’t help but shed light on a troubling turn of events that unfolded. Despite accumulating a fortune and allegedly extorting millions from the one and only Elvis Presley, she audaciously filed a lien against Graceland – his cherished home – for an astonishing sum of $494,024.49, on or around April 29, 1977. The timing of this move was particularly cruel, as it added significant stress to Elvis less than four months before he tragically succumbed to a heart attack and drug complications on August 16, 1977. This, my fellow fans, is the chilling tale of how Priscilla reportedly exerted undue pressure on the King himself, potentially pushing him towards his untimely demise.

The documents suggest that Presley is portrayed as a strategically manipulative individual with antisocial tendencies, exhibiting deceit, and primarily motivated by a thirst for power.

Although publicly projecting an image of someone who is solely concerned with ‘preservation’ and ‘maintaining family unity,’ Priscilla secretly aspires for power at any expense. She goes to great lengths to manipulate her public image.

The filing included an alleged letter from Riley to Presley, which provided insights into the family’s supposed conflict. This letter was penned following the demise of Lisa-Marie, coinciding with the start of a legal dispute concerning her estate.

According to the records, the events preceding the letter mentioned that following Lisa’s funeral, Priscilla swiftly initiated a legal challenge in court, targeting the 2016 amendment of the Promenade Trust and particularly contesting her granddaughter’s inheritance. She assigned Kruse and Fialko to negotiate a settlement with Riley on her behalf. Despite repeated pleas from Riley (her own granddaughter) to uphold her mother’s wishes, Priscilla remained persistent in her pursuit of financial gain and power, continuing to assert claims against Riley.

Last month, Kruse and Fialko initially brought forth a lawsuit, asserting that Presley had intentionally discontinued Lisa Marie Presley’s life support in an attempt to reclaim control over the Presley estate.

It is claimed that she devised a plan to deceive them, taking advantage of the anticipated 2023 death of Lisa Marie. This assertion was labeled as “shameful and sensational” by Presley in a statement made to the Daily Mail.

In simpler terms, the lawsuit alleges that Presley, deemed opportunistic, exploited Lisa Marie as the sole heir of Elvis’ estate following his death, disregarding Lisa Marie’s Advanced Health Care Directive when he hurriedly removed life support from her after a cardiac arrest in January 2023, despite her being 54 years old.

The lawsuit claimed that Presley aspired to manage her daughter’s trust and Graceland, and that Lisa Marie was reluctant to interact with or even approach her mother prior to their appearance at the 2023 Golden Globes in support of the Elvis biopic, just two days before her passing.

In essence, the grievance asserted that Priscilla had realized Lisa intended to replace her as the only trustee for Lisa’s unalterable life insurance trust, and furthermore, Lisa was preparing to initiate a lawsuit against her.

According to the lawsuit, the leaders of Priscilla Presley Partners, namely Kruse and Fialko, made efforts to maintain unity within the Presley family. Eventually, Priscilla Presley and Lisa Marie joined hands on a red carpet appearance together.

It has been stated that Lisa Marie, who appeared unwell, had expressed concerns about her health to Presley. Reportedly, he failed to heed these warning signals and accompanied her to the Chateau Marmont for some drinks instead.

The lawsuit claims that Presley disregarded his daughter’s 2010 Advance Health Care Directive, which specified that she wished for her life to be extended as long as possible when making end-of-life decisions. It also alleges that he hastily ended life support just hours after Lisa was admitted to the hospital, before their granddaughter Riley [Keough] could arrive at the facility.

‘According to the lawsuit, it was understood by Priscilla that Lisa’s passing eliminated the risk of Lisa attempting to replace Priscilla as the sole trustee of her irrevocable life insurance trust. Ultimately, Priscilla aimed to have authority over both the Promenade Trust and Graceland.’

A week prior to Lisa’s funeral, at her home, Priscilla declared, “As its ruler, I am in control of Graceland,” the attorney asserted.

Following the demise of Lisa Marie, two weeks later Presley contested the will legally, as it had granted control of the prosperous Promenade Trust to Lisa Marie’s daughter, Keough, instead of him.

In simpler terms, Presley filed an appeal against a change made in the Trust of the Promenade in 2016. This amendment took away her and Barry Siegel’s roles as trustees, replacing them with Lisa Marie and the late Benjamin Keough, who were appointed co-trustees instead.

The matter was settled five months later.

According to Kruse, she and Fialko have been persistently working towards securing a $2.4 million settlement for Presley and a substantial agreement worth more than a million dollars for Priscilla’s son, Navarone.

They asserted that they were let go prior to the agreement’s completion, and were not reimbursed for their efforts.

Previously, Presley’s lawyer, Marty Singer, expressed to The Daily Mail that this lawsuit is undeniably one of the most embarrassing, absurd, scandalous, and groundless legal actions he has encountered during his career.

This action is simply a malicious and spiteful ploy to unfairly damage the reputation of an 80-year-old woman as a form of revenge for filing a lawsuit against Brigitte Kruse, Kevin Fialko, and their associates over unjustified actions.

In the ongoing disagreement, Kruse and her alleged accomplices have already switched to their fourth group of legal representatives. This latest move by the newly appointed lawyers is seen as a questionable publicity tactic, given that the complaint and press release were sent out to the media prior to the actual serving of the complaint.

It’s inappropriate and unfair to blame a mother who has lost her child for her daughter’s death. This action isn’t wise legal argumentation; it’s a cruel attempt to tarnish her reputation, and it should be widely criticized. The allegations made against her lack any basis in truth and we are certain the case will be dropped.

A little over a year ago, Priscilla Presley lodged a complaint, claiming she was subjected to an organized scheme by Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko (along with others), aimed at cutting her off from her reliable advisors and tricking her into endorsing a sequence of contracts. According to the claims made by Kruse, these contracts granted them a significant stake in Presley’s personal brand, including her name, image, and likeness, forever, and supposedly required her to secure their approval before accepting any job offer or similar opportunity.

In response to one among several petitions by Kruse (which were unsuccessful one after another), the court ruled that if the accusations made by the plaintiff are indeed valid, this case represents textbook examples of elder abuse.

Following a string of losses in court cases in California and Florida, Kruse and her associates are now aggressively using the tactic known as “a strong offense is the best defense.” This move seems to be a desperate and clear attempt to counterattack.

‘The plan won’t succeed. Moreover, it is clear that Kruse, Fialko, and their most recent group of lawyers are dissatisfied with the decisions made by the current case’s judge over the past year. They seem to be attempting to circumvent this situation by seeking out a different court, or ‘forum shopping’, in an effort to face a new judge.’

Riley Keough strongly supports her grandmother and shares equal disgust over the recent, cruel effort by Kruse to harm her grandmother’s reputation.

In a separate part of the lawsuit that Kruse and Fialko filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, it is alleged that Keya Morgan, Lee’s former business manager who had been previously acquitted of theft charges related to Marvel icon Stan Lee, was involved in instigating the elder abuse allegations against Kruse and Fialko, which were made by Presley.

Or:

The lawsuit filed by Kruse and Fialko in Los Angeles Superior Court also claims that Keya Morgan, previously acquitted of theft charges concerning Stan Lee, was behind Presley’s accusation of elder abuse against Kruse and Fialko.

In the same court case, Kruse and Fialko are saying that Keya Morgan, a person who had been cleared of theft charges related to Stan Lee, is responsible for Presley making claims of elder abuse against them.

In 2023, a legal dispute arose between Presley and businesswoman Kruse. Kruse alleged that Presley breached their contract as she claimed to have managed both his business and personal affairs when he was on the verge of financial ruin and owed approximately $700,000 in unpaid taxes.

In July 2024, Presley filed a lawsuit accusing Kruse, Fialko, Vahe Sislyan, and Lynn Walker Wright of financial exploitation, stating they had taken advantage of her and misappropriated over $1 million from her. However, their legal representatives refuted these allegations.

In the year 2022, it’s said that Presley found herself in a dire financial situation, which led her to initially reach out to both Kruse and Fialko.

In the recent legal declaration, it’s stated that Kruse and Fialko successfully reorganized her financial structure, negotiated beneficial settlements, and boosted her event earnings significantly. As a result, they managed to raise her income per show from less than $10,000 to as high as $50,000.

As a devoted admirer, I’d say: “We, the enthusiastic supporters, assert that we partnered with Presley on numerous ventures, aiming to capitalize on her iconic persona. We poured substantial resources into merchandise, events, and promotions linked to her image, intending to rejuvenate her dwindling worth.

The lawsuit asserts that Presley misrepresented her control over her personal brand (also known as Name, Image, Likeness or NIL), even though she privately sold the rights to the Presley surname and Graceland estate for a sum of $6.5 million in 2005.

She didn’t share this information with Kruse and Fialko, a fact she later asserted she had forgotten about the agreement.

It was said that she never told Kruse and Fialko about it, and she subsequently stated that she had simply forgotten about the arrangement.

Morgan is under suspicion for cultivating a friendship with Presley, intimidating Kruse, and allegedly influencing Presley to cut ties with the plaintiffs by instigating allegations of elder abuse.

It’s said that following the settlement, Morgan reached out to Presley, proposing a way for her to regain control of her name, portrait, and brand identity from Elvis Presley Enterprises, the entity managing Elvis Presley’s intellectual property rights.

2023 saw a settlement between the Presleys, following which Elvis Presley reportedly severed relations with Priscilla Presley Partners. However, it’s claimed that instead of supporting their joint endeavors, he allegedly sabotaged them and started capitalizing on his Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) individually. This independent exploitation led to several high-profile appearances, such as NBC’s Christmas at Graceland, comic conventions, and promotional events, without any disclosure or sharing of earnings.

It’s also alleged that Presley illegally accessed company bank accounts, closed them without proper approval, and redirected checks made out to the company to her own personal account instead.

Jordan Matthews, legal representative of Kruse and Fialko, asserted to the Daily Mail that our lawsuit serves as the initial evidence revealing the source of Priscilla’s allegation of elder abuse.

Our extensive records clearly indicate that the original idea originated from Keya Morgan, who currently stands as a co-defendant in this lawsuit. In our forthcoming demonstrations, we aim to present him as a recurring ‘villain’ in a true-life drama, where we allege one woman’s persistent desperation and insatiable greed led to numerous lives being ruined.

He emphasized that the available detailed video recordings and communications clearly show no signs of improper influence, pressure, or elder mistreatment. Instead, what is evident is a lawful, thoroughly documented business alliance.

The proof clearly shows that my clients, having invested millions and years of dedicated effort in rejuvenating Priscilla Presley’s brand, have unfortunately become victims instead. This betrayal occurred when the financial stakes were high and all personal and professional matters were settled, leaving them falsely accused.

In simpler terms, the complaint suggests that Priscilla singled out Kruse and Fialko as soon as she found herself in a difficult financial situation. At this time, she was burdened by significant IRS debt and numerous legal disputes, not only with external parties but also within her own family.

The accusation states that Priscilla’s relationship with her daughter had been damaged for decades before the arrival of Kruse and Fialko. These individuals invested a substantial amount into revitalizing Priscilla’s professional image, sorting out financial issues, resolving lawsuits, addressing multiple private family disputes, and attempting to aid Priscilla in mending her relationship with her daughter. However, instead of appreciating their efforts, Priscilla has spread false rumors and malicious slander about Kruse and Fialko.

The parties bringing the lawsuit want compensation exceeding $50 million, which includes penalties and also an order to prohibit Presley from utilizing her name, picture, or symbolism beyond the prearranged corporate frameworks.

According to court documents submitted in September 2023, Kruse stated that Presley was on the brink of a financial crisis, approximately two months away from bankruptcy. However, Kruse intervened and successfully managed Presley’s affairs to prevent this impending collapse.

Kruse said that she and the actress began a company Priscilla Presley Partners in 2022.

Kruse testified in court that they invested a substantial sum of money and effort into creating projects for Priscilla, with the intention of benefiting from the publicity surrounding the release of Sofia Coppola’s biopic about her, which premiered in October of 2023.

In the year 2024, Priscilla’s attorney, Singer, stated that the star had stopped collaborating with Kruse after discovering that Kruse and her partner were trying to misuse Priscilla’s assets and were involved in other questionable activities.

In July 2024, Presley filed a lawsuit against Kruse, Fialko, Sislyan, and Walker Wright, alleging financial exploitation of an elder. Additionally, she claimed they manipulated her into a situation akin to indentured servitude as part of a carefully orchestrated and morally reprehensible plan.

In 2021, Presley encountered Kruse, who was operating a business offering Elvis collectibles via an auction house.

On August 27, 2021, Kruse was pictured next to Presley on an Instagram post promoting a lunch event taking place on September 4, 2021, located in Beverly Hills, California.

The lawsuit stated that Kruse asserted to Presley that her previous financial advisors were either dishonest or inept. Later, it is alleged that he tricked her into signing contracts and establishing companies, ultimately allowing him and his associates to receive 80% of her earnings, while Presley was left with only 20% of her own company.

Presley asserted that the group denied her significant ownership stakes in businesses they established, which capitalized on her fame, persona, and public identity. The lawsuit additionally targeted Priscilla Presley LLC.

The legal case claimed that money from the 2023 movie about Priscilla, featuring Jacob Elordi and Cailee Spaeny, was not only mishandled but also accused Kruse of being a fraudster and compulsive liar.

Presley alleged that her former business partners sabotaged a potential agreement giving her ownership stake in a cosmetics company. Instead, they negotiated an initial payment of $300,000 for her – a sum she asserts was diverted into their personal bank accounts.

The lawsuit alleged that the associates were creating new bank accounts at their preferred banks, thereby damaging Presley’s long-standing relationships with her financial institutions. They added themselves as account holders to Presley’s accounts, moved funds between them, and even conducted fake, self-benefitting transactions under the guise of insider deals.

The lawsuit alleged that Kruse and her team illegally withdrew $40,000 from an account meant for Navarone Garibaldi without proper consent, attempted dubious transactions regarding the inheritance of the late Lisa Marie, and deceptively billed Presley for relocation and storage costs.

Presley filed a lawsuit against Kruse, seeking over $1 million in compensation for alleged harm, and requested that the contracts she signed with Kruse and the other defendants be declared null and void.

The legal team for Kruse and Fialko stated that the lawsuit they’ve recently filed was a response, or counter-suit, to the one initiated by Priscilla’s business partners the previous year.

As an ardent supporter who’s poured their heart into assisting this woman in need, I am unwaveringly convinced that truth will reveal itself and fairness will reign. It grieves me deeply to see someone who once received our selfless aid now seemingly employ her celebrity stature to tarnish the reputations of compassionate individuals.

On Kruse’s Instagram profile, with over 356,000 followers, it is clearly stated that Kruse serves as both an entrepreneur and the Director of Operations for Kruse GWS Auctions.
