Prince William cheers Aston Villa during historic Champions League run

As a gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in virtual football worlds, I must say, it’s refreshing to see real-life royalty getting just as invested in the game. Prince William‘s unabashed fandom for Aston Villa is something we can all relate to – that indescribable rush of adrenaline when your team scores, the heartache when they miss a penalty, and the unwavering hope that this could be their year.

You know, Tea and Banter isn’t a sports blog, but it’s sure starting to feel like it.

Just like any other Royal, Prince William has been stepping away from work duties to spend quality moments with his spouse, Princess Catherine, and their three offspring. Yet, the future King hasn’t spent all of this time in quiet solitude; he’s been actively following his preferred football team, Aston Villa, during an impressive winning streak.

As reported by Hello Magazine, Aston Villa has emerged victorious in its last three matches against Bologna, Bayern Munich, and BSC Young Boys. Strikingly, Villa didn’t allow any points to be scored by these teams throughout the games.

It’s common knowledge among fans of both the Royal Family and English football that Prince William is an ardent fan of Aston Villa FC. Interestingly, this love for the team seems to be a family affair, as even his eldest son, George, has been seen supporting Villa during his October school break!

As a gamer, I’ve been waiting for quite some time now to see Aston Villa back in action on Europe’s grandest stages. It’s been decades since they last graced those fields, all the way back to the early ’90s. This prolonged absence is certainly making Prince William eager with anticipation!

On the platform once known as Twitter, Prince William recently penned a post, tagging Ally McCoist – a sports commentator who was honored with an OBE by the Royal family not long ago. The post included a flexed bicep emoji and his signature “W” at the end to confirm his authorship. It’s been a while since we’ve seen the Prince this energized.

Hey there! By any chance, are you also a fan of Aston Villa Football Club? I find it fascinating how dedicated the Royals are to their favorite sports. Why don’t you join us on X or Facebook and let’s share our excitement as we wait for King Charles to sign up for his next marathon!
