Prince Harry shares why he's grateful to be raising his children in the United States

As a gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in virtual worlds, I find myself drawn to the real-life drama unfolding within the British royal family. The story of Prince Harry and his family’s journey from the UK to America is akin to an epic quest with twists, turns, and unexpected challenges.

Occasionally, it can be hazardous to belong to a royal household. Consequently, certain family members take additional precautions to secure their well-being.

It is said that Prince Harry became aware of this when he and his spouse, Meghan Markle, decided to settle permanently in the United States some years ago. More recently, the Duke of Sussex sat down for an interview with Andrew Ross Sorkin from Dealbook at the New York Times’ Dealbook Online Summit in New York City. In their discussion, Harry opened up about his mother, Princess Diana, her aspirations for his life, and how he has adapted to raising his children in a new nation.

Escaping the conflict and controversy of British life

In the course of an interview, I (as a fan) wondered aloud if Sorkin posed the question about whether the potential risks of residing in the U.K. were factored into Prince Harry’s decision to remain in the U.S. The Duke responded candidly that safety concerns for him and his family had indeed been a significant aspect of their deliberations before making that final choice.

In the course of his reply, Harry expressed his deep-seated joy about residing in the United States and nurturing his children there. As he put it, this lifestyle he currently enjoys was not something he ever envisioned achieving independently.

In a touching moment, the Duke of Sussex reflected on how perhaps Princess Diana’s dreams for him were being realized now, as he finds himself living a life in the United States where he can share special experiences with his children that would have been impossible in the U.K. This, according to Prince Harry, is something he feels deeply grateful for.

Resistance and contention

In the piece they wrote, People discussed some of the obstacles Harry and Meghan encountered ever since they tied the knot. Following a request to vacate Frogmore Cottage in the U.K., the pair decided to relocate to the United States instead.

After Harry tied the knot, his bond with Prince William seemed to worsen noticeably. This was apparent as they hardly exchanged words during their uncle’s funeral service.

Although Harry and his wife have a fondness for the U.S., they made a move by acquiring a new residence in Portugal as far back as October. According to Harper’s Bazaar, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are said to reside in close proximity to this property.

It’s been suggested that being in close proximity to a few members of the British Royal Family might facilitate reconciliation between Harry, Meghan, and other family members within the House of Windsor. However, whether this approach will prove effective is yet to be determined.

At this point, Prince Harry isn’t contemplating living outside the United States for an extended spell. Regrettably, his belief that his family is safer in America compared to the U.K. indicates that finding a house nearer to his kinship might not resolve existing issues.

We shall see what happens.
