Prime Video’s new action movie looks like Die Hard meets Air Force One

Prime Video has released the trailer for G20, a new action movie starring Viola Davis.

Previously, the actor from “How to Get Away with Murder” portrayed the leader of the Suicide Squad and the queen of a warrior tribe known as The Woman King. Currently, she is taking on the role of the President of the United States.

As we see in the trailer, she’s about to attend the G20 Summit and decides to drag her family along after her teenage daughter makes the headlines for acting out. That turns out to be a huge mistake, as when terrorists take over the Summit, it’s not just world leaders who are in danger, but her loved ones too.

Luckily, as a former soldier, she’s a dab hand when it comes to kicking ass.

The film’s shares a lot of DNA with Air Force One, the film where President Harrison Ford has to fight terrorists on his private plane, but there’s also a dash of Die Hard in there as she attempts to save hostages single-handedly.

In addition to Viola Davis, the cast features Anthony Anderson and Marsai Martin from “Black-ish”, Gideon Emery known for his role in “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth”, Clark Gregg of “Agents of SHIELD”, and Antony Starr, who plays a main character on “The Boys”. This diverse ensemble will bring their talent to the production.

But it’s not the only big movie Davis has coming up.

In the near future, the star is set to team up once more with director Gina Prince-Bythewood on their next collaborative project titled “Children of Blood and Bone”.

The film is based on the popular fantasy novel written by Nigerian author Tomi Adeyemi, titled “An Attempt to Rejuvenate Magic in a Kingdom.” In this story, Cynthia Erivo and Idris Elba will lend their talents.

G20 will be available to stream on Prime Video from Thursday, April 10.
