As a big fan of Prime Video shows, I’m really glad to hear that one of their popular supernatural series is going to get a proper ending – they announced the final season well ahead of time, which is awesome. It seems like Prime Video is building a lot of shows meant to have long runs too. For example, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was always planned for five seasons, and they’re expanding the world of Critical Role with both The Legend of Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein, so it looks like we’ll have content for a while!
While many of these shows seem promising, their long-term future isn’t certain. For instance, although Invincible will have a season 5, the creators envision the series potentially running for eight seasons total, but that hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. However, one show on Prime Video has been guaranteed a complete ending.
Hazbin Hotel is an animated series created by Vivienne Medrano. It’s about Charlie Morningstar, Lucifer’s daughter, who starts a hotel in Hell with the goal of helping demons redeem themselves. She hopes to reduce the number of demons killed each year when angels come down to deal with Hell’s overcrowding.
Despite receiving positive reviews, the future of Hazbin Hotel is already planned out. After season 1, the show was picked up for seasons 3 and 4. Then, in April 2026, five months after season 2 finished airing, it was renewed for a fifth and final season. This means we know how the series will end, and that it will have a complete conclusion.
Knowing Season 5 Is The End Means Hazbin Hotel Can Plot A Proper Finale
With season 5 of Hazbin Hotel already confirmed, the show has ample time to build towards a satisfying conclusion. The series has started setting up the ending, and season 3 will finally launch the long-anticipated storyline involving Charlie’s mother, Lilith. This arc is predicted to be a major one, as it’s been teased since the very beginning of the show.
The series has added several complex storylines, including Alastor’s ambition to become Hell’s most powerful sinner and Lute’s frustration with the alliance between Heaven and Hell to rehabilitate souls. The creators anticipate the story will require three seasons, each with eight episodes, to be fully realized. Because they already have a clear idea of the ending, the show has ample opportunity to deliver a satisfying conclusion.
This probably indicates that future seasons of Hazbin Hotel will give more attention to a wider range of characters. Season 2 heavily featured the main villain, Vox, who appeared in half of the season’s new songs. With three more seasons planned, the show now has the opportunity to balance screen time and development more evenly among its key characters.
The extended run also allows the show to continue using music effectively. Songs are a key part of Hazbin Hotel, revealing character thoughts and feelings or marking significant plot points. With more episodes planned, we can expect many more songs featuring the main characters, and the creative team will have ample time to develop music that perfectly complements the rest of the story.
Hazbin Hotel Has Been A Runaway Hit For Prime Video
It’s no surprise that Hazbin Hotel is set to continue, given its strong performance on Prime Video. The first season broke records, becoming the most-watched animated TV show debut globally on the platform. And when Season 2 arrived, it quickly hit Number 1 in 23 countries, proving the show remained popular even after a nearly two-year wait.
Alongside Hazbin Hotel, there’s another series called Helluva Boss. It was created by the same person, Vivienne Medrano (under the name Spindlehorse), and originally released on YouTube before Hazbin Hotel came out. The third season of Helluva Boss is coming to Prime Video later this year, and will likely feature connections to the Hazbin Hotel storyline. Together, these shows are proving to be a successful franchise for Prime Video with lots of potential for future growth.
With three seasons remaining, Hazbin Hotel is well-positioned to provide a fulfilling ending to Charlie and her friends’ story. The show promises plenty of exciting adventures and action as both villains and heroes pursue their individual paths, all leading towards a clear resolution.
