Prime Video’s reboot of War of the Worlds has landed an infamous 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
On Wednesday, 30th July, “War of the Worlds” premiered on Amazon Prime Video, featuring Ice Cube alongside actress Eva Longoria from “Desperate Housewives”.
As a gaming enthusiast, I recently found myself immersed in a thrilling cinematic experience based on H.G. Wells’ classic novel, “The War of the Worlds.” In this adventure, I find myself stepping into the shoes of Will Radford, a government analyst with an ordinary life that takes an extraordinary turn when Earth is invaded by extraterrestrial beings. Ice Cube brings his unique charm to the role of Will Radford, making this adaptation a must-watch for sci-fi fans everywhere.
According to the logline, the story of War of the Worlds can be summed up as an exhilarating, otherworldly journey featuring contemporary themes such as technological advancements, monitoring, and personal privacy.
As I’m typing this, the science fiction thriller is receiving a dismal rating of 0% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 12 reviews. _Variety_ has even labeled it as “disastrous”.

In their writing, they expressed that although you have a Prime subscription, you’re still required to watch approximately two minutes of advertisements before viewing a 90-minute video which essentially functions as an extended promotional piece for various Amazon products.
According to Screen Anarchy, War of the Worlds is “laughably poor, eventually turning into ridiculously absurd… essentially a 90-minute advertisement for Amazon.
As a gamer, I’d put it like this: “This modern take on H.G. Wells’ sci-fi masterpiece failed to create any real tension or excitement from its misguided twists. In fact, the more I played, the sillier it got.

Mark, who critiques movies, stated: “The idea behind War of the Worlds is ingeniously executed. Unfortunately, the rest of it falls short of meeting this intriguing premise.
Austin Burke commented that the movie adaptation of “War of the Worlds” has a clumsy writing style and uneven tempo, which makes it a strong candidate for being among the poorest films of this decade thus far.
As a devoted fan, I must confess that despite the scathing critiques from critics, “War of the Worlds” has been an unparalleled success among viewers. Amazingly, it’s currently holding the top spot on Prime Video, according to FlixPatrol, making it the most-watched movie on the streaming platform in the UK at this moment, leading the service’s top 10 movies chart.
War of the Worlds is streaming now on Prime Video.
