Enthusiasts of the series “The Summer I Turned Pretty” are in a frenzy, praising what they call “the best episode yet” following the unveiling of the recent season 3 twist on Amazon Prime Video.
Yesterday, “Last Dance” was released, a production that Jenny Han – the show’s head writer – wrote and directed. Notably, she also authored the books upon which the series is based.
In this installment, Belly, played by Lola Tung, and Conrad, portrayed by Christopher Briney, grow more connected as Conrad offers assistance with wedding planning, with their brother Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) temporarily absent.
In a casual manner, they ran their necessary tasks and opted to purchase some juicy peaches along the way. A sweet, intimate instant occurred when Conrad gently cleaned the peach juice from Belly’s chin using his white shirt.
It’s going a bit overboard, as Belly quickly recalled the need for them to pick up some peaches for Jeremiah.
It seems clear that the main love triangle continues to exist, as Conrad finds himself reliving memories of his past with Belly, particularly the moment before their separation when they were intimately connected.
Just as with Conrad, many fans find themselves continually reflecting on the peach scene, admiring Han’s skillful penmanship and direction.
“I loved it sooo much! The peach scene took me back to the books,” one viewer wrote.
One user humorously commented on Instagram, saying they might need to visit a psychologist after watching this episode, but added, “This is THE BEST EPISODE EVER! You can tell by the meticulous attention Jenny gave to directing each scene – it’s so unique and shows an abundance of love and passion.
“Best episode ever,” someone else agreed. “Chris is such an amazing actor. This episode broke me.”
“Jenny COOKED with this episode,” another fan enthused. “Genuinely one of my favorites.”
With the wedding drawing near, can Conrad manage to suppress his emotions? Will Belly still proceed with the marriage ceremony?
