In a surprising move, the Amazon Prime Video series Hunters is now streaming on Netflix. This is unexpected considering Hunters was once a major original show for Amazon and heavily advertised as part of their content lineup. While licensing agreements for shows and movies are often complex, it’s becoming more common to see original series move from one streaming service to another. Now, fans can watch both seasons of the star-studded series Hunters on Netflix.
Let me tell you about Hunters, a series created by David Weil and brought to life with the creative force of Jordan Peele – the guy behind Get Out and Nope. It debuted on Prime Video back in February 2020, and while it got a second season, Prime Video announced upfront that it would be the show’s last. The story drops us into 1977 New York City and follows a group of vigilantes with a seriously dangerous mission: tracking down and eliminating high-ranking Nazi officers who’ve been living in hiding in the U.S. It’s a real race against time as these hunters try to stop a plan to establish a Fourth Reich right here in America.
The most striking thing about Hunters is its strong cast, featuring Al Pacino as Meyer Offerman, the leader of a group dedicated to tracking down Nazis. The story follows Jonah Heidelbaum (Logan Lerman), a new member of the team, and we experience the unfolding mystery alongside him. Jerrika Hinton, Josh Radnor, and Carol Kane also star. The first season, a 10-episode conspiracy thriller, premiered in 2020, and an eight-episode second season followed in 2023.
‘Hunters’ Is a Well-Received Prime Original That Is Now Available on Netflix

Prime Video
The Amazon Prime series Hunters saw improved critical reception with its second and final season. While the first season earned a ‘fresh’ rating of 65% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 110 reviews, Season 2 achieved a ‘certified fresh’ rating of 71% – though with fewer reviews (21). The show is praised for its intriguing premise, strong performances, and exploration of an alternate history with relevant political themes. Though some critics feel it didn’t fully deliver on its potential, the second season offered a satisfying conclusion to the 18-episode series.
It’s a bit unexpected to find Hunters on Netflix, considering it’s also available on Prime Video. Apparently, Sony Pictures Television owns the rights to the show, and its exclusivity on Prime Video may have ended. What’s on Netflix reports the Netflix license is only for one year, so if you subscribe to Netflix and don’t have Prime Video, now’s the time to watch it.
