Prime Video is removing Michael Sheen’s “fantastic” drama very soon

Viewers have just a few days left to watch a highly-rated Michael Sheen drama on Prime Video before it’s removed. Called Beautiful Boy (and different from the film starring Timothée Chalamet), the show first came out in 2010.

The film focuses on Bill and Kate Carroll, a married couple portrayed by Sheen and Maria Bello (from the series Beef), whose lives are shattered when their teenage son, Sam (Kyle Gallner), commits a school shooting and then takes his own life.

Hoping to avoid the press, they retreat to the wife’s brother’s home. However, as they struggle to understand what would lead their son to commit such a terrible deed, tension and blame begin to grow between them.

The movie Beautiful Boy is currently streaming on Prime Video, but it will be taken off the platform in five days.

I saw this movie and honestly, one person on IMDb nailed it – they called it a fantastic, really intense, and dark drama. They gave it a 9 out of 10, and I totally get why. Charlie Sheen was incredible, but Maria Bello and Nicolai Gallner were also amazing in their roles. Seriously good performances all around.

I was reading some reviews of the film, and the Washington Examiner said it was really powerful, honest, and tough to get through – in a good way, I think! Assignment X agreed it wasn’t perfect, but when it did work, it really, really worked. It sounds like a film that sticks with you, even with its flaws.

Shawn Ku directed and co-wrote the film, which features Alan Tudyk (known for Rogue One), Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation), Austin Nichols (The Walking Dead), and the legendary musician Meat Loaf.
