Daniel Craig is now famous as James Bond, but he was a talented actor before that role. One example is his performance in the 2004 gangster thriller Layer Cake, a really well-made film by Matthew Vaughn.
The film stars Craig as a successful drug dealer in London who dreams of retirement. However, things don’t go as planned when he’s tasked with finding the missing daughter of someone connected to a powerful crime boss, making his exit much more complicated.
The crime thriller Layer Cake, featuring Tom Hardy, Sienna Miller, Colm Meaney, Michael Gambon, and Ben Whishaw, is now streaming on Prime Video. However, it will be leaving the service in 14 days, on March 3rd, so you don’t have much time to watch it!

You can watch the movie without a Prime membership, or start a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime to do so.
If you can’t catch Layer Cake on Prime Video, it’s also showing on Sky Cinema and NOW (if you have a Cinema membership) in the UK.

The crime thriller Layer Cake has been well-received by both critics and audiences. It currently has an 81% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and IMDb users describe it as a unique and memorable film.
One viewer described the film as funny, surprisingly honest, and remarkably to-the-point, calling it a pure delight for movie lovers. Another praised its stylish, London vibe, noting that while it might not be the very best in its category, it’s still a good and captivating watch.
Enjoying Daniel Craig in Layer Cake? You can now watch his highly-rated 2024 drama, Queer, available on BBC iPlayer.
I’m so excited – I just found out I can watch Layer Cake on Prime Video, Sky Cinema, and NOW if you have a Cinema membership here in the UK! It’s great that there are a few options for catching this film.
