If you’re looking for a fast-paced and exciting thriller tonight, check out Pretty Lethal, now available on Prime Video. However, it’s worth noting that the movie hasn’t received rave reviews from everyone.
Okay, so everyone’s been talking about this new movie, and while a lot of people really like it, it’s getting enough mixed reviews that it just missed being ‘Certified Fresh’ on Rotten Tomatoes. As of today, it’s sitting at 59% – only one point away from that important 60% mark! It’s a bit disappointing, honestly.
Directed by Vicky Jewson and written by Kate Freund, the film follows a struggling ballet company whose trip to an important competition is derailed when their bus breaks down, forcing them to find temporary refuge.

Facing a group of armed attackers, they need to rely on their skills and training to defend themselves and survive.
Maddie Ziegler, Lana Condor, Iris Apatow, Millicent Simmonds, and Avantika all appear in the movie, with Thurman playing the villain. Michael Culkin and Lydia Leonard also have roles in the film.

According to a review by The Blogging Banshee, Pretty Lethal successfully combines humor and action, playfully highlighting the strength of ballerinas.
Blu-ray.com agreed, noting that Pretty Lethal delivers solid entertainment, especially when it builds tense and frantic situations for its characters.

Slant Magazine praised the film as energetic and exciting, though they felt the ending wasn’t fully satisfying. Bloody Disgusting highlighted the action-packed fight choreography and Uma Thurman’s over-the-top performance as the villain, concluding that Pretty Lethal is an enjoyable watch.
Reviews for Pretty Lethal were mixed. The Hollywood Reporter felt the film didn’t live up to its potential, describing it as a momentarily enjoyable but ultimately forgettable experience. RogerEbert.com criticized the movie’s weak characters and plot, noting that while it had one impressive action scene, the climax was surprisingly dull.
Director Jewson recently shared his positive experience working with Uma Thurman, telling People magazine that she’s both very funny and deeply empathetic. He believes this combination allows her to make even the most outlandish scenes believable, and that no other actress could achieve the same effect.
Pretty Lethal is streaming on Prime Video now.
