In simple terms, it’s generally accepted that when a man becomes a father for the first time, he is eligible for a specified time off work as part of his parental rights, according to the Employment Act of 2002.
Producers of the most recent Pride and Prejudice remake were compelled to rearrange their shooting plans due to an unexpected development: Their portrayal of Mr. Darcy has become a father, as The Mail on Sunday recently disclosed.
In a twist of roles, Jack Lowden, who portrays an eligible bachelor in literature, is himself married in real life to four-time Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan. She recently welcomed their first child, which has temporarily kept Lowden from the set of the current six-part series being produced for Netflix.
Filmmakers are compelled to hire actors resembling Emma Corrin, who portrays the spirited Elizabeth Bennet in the upcoming final scenes of The Crown. Interestingly, Olivia Colman – a recipient of both an Oscar and an Emmy award – is also part of this cast.
As an overjoyed admirer bursting with excitement, I can’t help but share my heartfelt enthusiasm! Hearing the fantastic tidings that our beloved Jack has welcomed a new addition to his family as a proud father just warms my heart! Let me tell you, there isn’t a soul who wouldn’t cheer him on during this precious time of bonding. He deserves all the paternity leave he needs without an ounce of controversy. Congratulations, Jack, and welcome to the world of fatherhood!
However, despite the absence of Mr Darcy, the production team continues to press forward, hence the necessity of employing stand-ins to fill his role during filming.
‘So it has been a case of lookalikes for Jack so that there is no disruption.’
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share the news that the illustrious Scottish actor Lowden, aged 35, recently wed Ms. Ronan, who is 31 years old, in a quiet ceremony held in Edinburgh last July. Just two weeks ago, she was spotted out and about with a noticeable baby bump, which only adds to the excitement surrounding their union.

Representatives of the pair were contacted for comment.
Hand-muffs in summer… there’s no Sense And Sensibility in that, Daisy
By Jo Macfarlane
On this particular day, central London experienced a warm climate. However, for the main cast filming the newest adaptation of Jane Austen’s work, it was quite chilly and winter-like on the set.
Actresses Daisy Edgar-Jones from Normal People and Fiona Shaw known for her role in Killing Eve were spotted donning cloaks and muffs for the initial portrayal of their characters in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of Sense And Sensibility.
In contrast to the unseasonably warm weather last week, the actors filmed winter scenes in Whitehall while dressed in appropriate period costumes. Edgar-Jones, aged 27, portraying the reserved Elinor Dashwood – the eldest of the Dashwood sisters – donned a lengthy charcoal cloak, a grey embroidered hand-muff, and a bonnet adorned with a grey ribbon.
In the upcoming production, an actress will take on the same character that Dame Emma Thompson portrayed in Ang Lee’s 1995 movie adaptation, for which she received an Academy Award nomination.
In the 1811 novel, Elinor frequently serves as the ethical compass, using her silent resilience to steer a once prosperous family through their personal struggles and financial difficulties.
In a delightful whirlwind of excitement, I found myself standing close to the radiant Ms. Edgar-Jones on set, but it was none other than the magnificent Ms. Shaw, 67, who truly stole the show as the unforgettable Mrs. Jennings. With her overpowering and intrusive nature, she manages to embody an intensely loving surrogate mother to the Dashwood sisters, leaving me utterly captivated by her performance!
Ms. Shaw, adorned in a verdant velvet cloak and a hood of mustard hue atop a light green dress, shared a humorous remark with her fellow actor Esme Creed-Miles, aged 25 – the daughter of Samantha Morton, who portrays Marianne Dashwood.
This year, Netflix is set to release a new adaptation of Sense and Sensibility, marking their second significant Austen remake in celebration of her 250th birthday. Meanwhile, they are currently filming a TV version of Pride and Prejudice with an impressive ensemble cast.

In addition to her role, Ms. Shaw will be portraying the formidable Lady Catherine de Bourgh, who is Mr. Darcy’s arrogant aunt, in this production. Meanwhile, another well-known adaptation of a 19th-century novel – specifically, Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights – is currently being filmed by Warner Bros. This time around, the lead roles will be played by Australians Margot Robbie as Catherine and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff.
All three of the period dramas are planned to be released next year.
