Pop sensation Connie Francis shares that she’s making progress towards recovery, following a hospital visit due to severe discomfort.
The singer famous for hits like “Stupid Cupid” and “Lipstick on Your Collar”, who gained popularity in the late ’50s and early ’60s, updated her fans on Facebook that she is currently receiving treatment following medical tests and check-ups. She expressed her gratitude for everyone’s well wishes, prayers, and kind words, which she posted on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, the 87-year-old singer known for “Pretty Little Baby,” posted on Facebook that she visited the hospital to investigate the source of her discomfort. Over the weekend, Cher’s son, Elijah Allman, was admitted to the hospital following an incident in which authorities in San Bernardino were called due to a man exhibiting unusual behavior.
A week before I was admitted to the hospital, I took to Facebook to share that I’ve been grappling with a persistent right-side pelvic pain. Subsequent tests revealed that this discomfort stemmed from a fracture.
It seems she’ll need her wheelchair for a while more than expected, as she mentioned having to cancel an upcoming show.
In March, Francis shared additional details about her health status with her followers via another Facebook post. She explained that she relies on a wheelchair to alleviate stress from a problematic hip that causes discomfort, and mentioned that she was undergoing stem cell therapy at the moment.
Throughout her career, Francis has freely discussed her personal struggles. In an interview with The Village Voice in 2011, she revealed that she was admitted to various mental healthcare facilities during the ’80s. She later disclosed that she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after initially being misdiagnosed with other psychological conditions such as bipolar disorder, ADD, and ADHD.
