18-year-old daughter of Pretty in Pink actor Andrew McCarthy, Willow, was pictured in her blue prom dress in Dublin, Ireland on Tuesday in an uncommon photo shared by her father.
Tonight, I had the delight of seeing my dear daughter, Willow, attend her high school prom. I shared this heartwarming moment with over half a million of my fellow Facebook friends.
‘She did not wear pink.’
The student who graduated from Nord Anglia International School Dublin has already secured admission into New York University’s Class of 2029, which is the very same institution that her well-known father was previously expelled from.
At just 13 years old, Willow had already proven herself to be a seasoned performer, appearing in three Broadway plays. Her most recent professional role was portraying Lisa Spencer in the 2021 horror movie “The Girl Who Got Away,” directed by Michael Morrissey.

Andrew, who has been married to Irish theater director Dolores Rice for 13 years, is also the father of their 11-year-old son named Rowan.
In the course of a six-year marriage with New York University sweetheart Carol Schneider that concluded in 2005, McCarthy became the father of a 23-year-old son named Sam. Most recently, Sam has been spotted acting in Disney+’s reboot Goosebumps: The Vanishing.
In 2021, the ‘nepotism baby’ was notably nominated for a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award for contributing to the gifted cast in Netflix’s series, Dead to Me.
In a reference to the 1986 romantic comedy-drama “Pretty in Pink,” starring Howard Deutch, the leading actor mentioned his role as the wealthy character named Blane who tries to win back his less affluent girlfriend Andie (played by Molly Ringwald) during the prom.
On June 7th, Andrew attended the Lower Manhattan premiere of his Hulu documentary “Brats” alongside his Pretty in Pink co-star Jon Cryer, along with fellow Brat Pack members Ally Sheedy and Demi Moore, marking a reunion of the group.
From the years 2015 to 2023, McCarthy served as director for a total of 26 episodes of the NBC series “The Blacklist,” featuring his longtime friend and co-star from “Pretty in Pink,” James Spader.
In July, Rob Lowe shared that he’s working on a follow-up to the 1985 movie “St. Elmo’s Fire,” produced by Columbia Pictures. As a result, there’s a possibility that he could return to his role as Kevin Dolenz in the new production.
For approximately four months, discussions have taken place between me and the studio regarding this project, as the 61-year-old Emmy nominee shared with ET.
Andrew’s document titled ‘Brats’ is generating a lot of buzz, but keep in mind that we are still in the initial phases, so it remains to be seen what unfolds.

Mare Winningham, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Demi Moore, and Emilio Estevez were part of the cast in the critically-panned drama centered around seven graduates from Georgetown University. The film managed to rake in $37.8 million at the box office despite a production budget of only $10 million.
In 1985, the song St. Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion) topped Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for a fortnight, while its instrumental counterpart, the Love Theme from St. Elmo’s Fire, peaked at number 15.
In the near future, you can expect Andrew to return to acting in the romantic film titled “Fate,” directed by Jonathan Baker, where he will be joined by Harvey Keitel, Faye Dunaway, and Mena Suvari on screen.
In the science fiction movie titled “Orion,” directed by Jaco Bouwer, McCarthy takes on an acting role. Post-production for this project started on February 26.
Additionally, Andrew has made a lasting impact through his iconic performances in the films “Mannequin” (1987), “Less Than Zero” (1987), and “Weekend at Bernie’s” (1989).
