Pregnant Michelle Keegan Can’t Wait to Spend Summer at Home After Years of Working Abroad

Michelle Keegan, who is pregnant, shared that she’s eagerly anticipating enjoying a homebound summer this year, following several years of working overseas.

In December, the actress (who is currently 37 years old) announced that she is pregnant with her first child, and that she is married to the former TOWIE star, Mark Wright (aged 38).

In a recent conversation with Grazia, Michelle discussed her spouse’s encouragement for her remote work and shared intentions to step back from professional obligations temporarily to prioritize her role as a parent.

Ever since their marriage in 2015, the pair have experienced stretches of separation because of work commitments, most notably when Mark was stationed in Los Angeles for more than a year while hosting the celebrity program Extra.

Michelle has a background in working on shows like Ten Pound Poms and Our Girl, with her past projects located in South Africa, Malaysia, and Australia.

She shared with the media outlet, “I plan to savor quite a bit of downtime to fully embrace my role as a mother. Typically, I’m not around during the summer because I’m usually off working somewhere else, but this year, I’m thrilled about staying home.

Additionally, she shared that her spouse is incredibly understanding during her periods of working away from home. They both manage to keep their relationship strong and uninterrupted by these absences.

She commented: ‘We always ensure not to make each other feel uncomfortable due to work-related absences… and we manage to keep our bond unchanged by such circumstances.’

Michelle has been wrapping work on the seventh series of Brassic before heading on maternity leave.

On Sunday, Michelle was taken aback when her dearest friends threw a gathering that appeared to be a baby shower, since she’s about to give birth to her first child with husband Mark Wright.

The actress posted a peek on her Instagram Stories of an intimate brunch hosted by her friends from up North at Barnshaw Smithy restaurant in Mobberley, Cheshire.

In my latest post, I’ve decided to share a peek into a charming setup that caught my eye. It features a rustic wooden table adorned with white tapered candles and elegant glass vases, creating an inviting ambiance. Each place setting boasts a delightful iced cookie and what looks like a miniature gift box, artfully tied with twine, adding a touch of elegance to the scene.

One subtle clue in the tasteful decoration hinting at the gathering to honor Michelle’s upcoming motherhood was the abundance of Baby’s-breath flowers, which are often given as gifts at baby showers due to their namesake.

Michelle labeled the pictures from the delightful get-together as, ‘Most adorable surprise brunch with my Northern friends.’

Eventually, she disclosed that it was her close friend, Katie Fearnehough, working together with an event-organizing service, who orchestrated her memorable occasion.

Expressing her thanks, the Brassic star exclaimed enthusiastically: “Wow, you’re amazing! You’re absolutely fantastic, @katiefearnehoughx and @peonyeventsplanning.

The next day, Michelle was seen leaving to have her hair styled in Cheshire, ensuring her growing pregnancy was not visible to others.

Last week, following Michelle’s sharing of numerous photos from her “Self-Care January,” I too have been focusing on my self-care routine, especially considering my current pregnancy journey.

She shared a series of pictures, one of which showed her using a gold facial mask and wearing a plush white bathrobe, indicating that she was pampering herself with some skincare.

Additionally, she indulged her expanding belly with a relaxing spa moment, capturing a photo of a bubbling bathtub and a pregnancy essentials set from Rochelle Humes’ brand, My Little Coco.

Additionally, she shared a picture of a treatment table from an aesthetic clinic, as well as a video of herself and Mark, aged 38, taking a leisurely walk together.

In a shared Instagram post last December, Michelle and Mark announced their joyous news – they’re having a baby! They also posted a lovely picture where Michelle lovingly held her growing belly.

They captioned the post: ‘2025 is going to be a special one for us…✨’

Michelle, a previous cast member on Coronation Street, tied the knot with Mark in May 2015. The duo resides in an opulent mansion they custom-built in Essex.
