Michelle Ackerley, who is expecting a baby, was taken to the hospital right after filming Morning Live and will be taking a leave of absence from the show.
The BBC presenter, 41, recently came back to the popular show after its summer hiatus. She’s expecting her first baby with her husband, Benjamin Ryan.
Michelle hasn’t been on TV lately, with her last appearance in the studio being on Monday, September 8th alongside Rav Wilding.
She has now revealed she was rushed to hospital.
The soon-to-be mother shared a photo on Instagram showing off her baby bump after leaving the hospital.
Things have been pretty hectic lately! I had a great day back at work with the wonderful team at BBC Morning Live last Monday.


Then, unfortunately, I ended up in the hospital with labyrinthitis for four days. It’s not a pleasant condition – I’m not sure if anyone’s experienced it, but it’s really not ideal.
The midwives at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester were incredible and really helped me stay calm despite my worries about being sick while pregnant. Now I’m home, resting and preparing for the baby.
Michelle announced she’s starting her maternity leave from Morning Live following a recent trip to the hospital.
She announced she’ll be returning to BBC Morning Live after the new year, and that she’ll have a new baby with her!
One viewer offered heartfelt support, saying they were so sorry to hear the news and disappointed they missed her last show before she started maternity leave. They encouraged her to rest, prepare for the baby, and continue being strong in her fight with endometriosis.
Someone else sent a message saying they were sending lots of love and were happy to see me home after being in the hospital, and included big hugs.
Someone sent me a message saying their mom had labyrinthitis and it’s really unpleasant, so they were really sympathetic and hoping I was feeling better. They sent lots of love too!
Labyrinthitis is an inner ear infection that can cause balance problems, and often includes symptoms like nausea, hearing loss, and feeling dizzy.


Michelle shared the wonderful news that she’s expecting a baby in May, calling the child a ‘miracle’.
Michelle shared with HELLO! that she’s expecting a baby girl in October, and she feels incredibly happy about it.
‘When I found out I was pregnant, I told my husband, and he said this is a baby miracle.
I came home after the Morning Live show and felt something wasn’t right, so I took a pregnancy test to be sure.
Michelle has previously shared that she felt both nervous and cautiously optimistic about her pregnancy, especially considering her ongoing struggles with endometriosis.




She shared adorable photos with her husband, Benjamin, on Instagram, including a picture of their baby’s ultrasound. In the caption, she expressed her disbelief that almost a year after their wedding, she’d be announcing a pregnancy.

I’ve been wanting to share my experiences with endometriosis and infertility. Last year, I finally felt comfortable talking about it publicly and was surprised to learn how many other women were facing similar challenges.
Being connected to a community, particularly around women’s health, can be incredibly helpful and supportive.
