Mia Winward-Dunn claims her father harshly criticized her, calling her a derogatory name, after she chose to become an OnlyFans content creator instead of pursuing a traditional job.
Sammy Winward, a former actress on Emmerdale, and her husband, retired footballer David Dunn, were surprised to learn their 20-year-old daughter is making money on a subscription-based website. Successful creators on the site can reportedly earn thousands of pounds each week.
Mia is expecting her first baby and has stopped creating content for OnlyFans. She’s still not on speaking terms with her parents, who were very upset when she first started using the platform.
‘I tried to reconnect with my dad and he called me a w***e on the phone,’ she told The Sun in 2025.
Former footballer Winward, who played as an attacking midfielder and even earned a spot on the England national team during his time with Blackburn Rovers, became a father to Mia in 2005. However, he and Mia’s mother separated just three months after she was born.
She explained that she has no contact with them, and they’re the ones reaching out. She’s disappointed by this, as she had hoped to be the one to extend an olive branch.
It feels unfair to be treated with so much anger, especially considering I’m still their daughter.
I understand not everyone appreciates my work, but I’m still a person, and specifically, the person my mother gave birth to.

Mia is currently living a peaceful life in the Lake District with her partner, the father of her soon-to-be-born baby. They’ve been together for a year, but she’s chosen to keep his identity private. He is known to be very talented in many areas.
Mia hasn’t told her parents she’s pregnant, and she’s worried about how they’ll react, especially knowing they’ll soon be grandparents.
She explained that she hadn’t contacted them yet, and they didn’t have a good way to reach her. Because she’s feeling sensitive during her pregnancy, she’s hoping to avoid any drama or stressful circumstances.
Mia is hopeful that she’ll get to share special times with her mother, and she really wants to go baby clothes shopping with her.
She acknowledged there’s significant hurt that needs to be addressed, and that healing hasn’t begun. However, she’s willing to apologize if her parents are also willing to do so.
The future mother had previously shared that she felt isolated and stifled growing up, and often only saw her mother for as little as ten minutes each day because of her busy work on the TV show Emmerdale.
She remembers being raised by a very young actress – only nineteen years old. While she had plenty of possessions growing up, she felt emotionally unsupported and overlooked.
I frequently felt isolated, bullied, and like my freedom was limited. I was often told what to wear and how to act, and I didn’t feel like I had the support I needed.
Sometimes her decisions, especially in relationships, worried me, and I often felt overwhelmed by the responsibility it put on me.
