Pregnant Made In Chelsea Star’s Hospital Drama: Health Scare Before Baby #2!

Previously cast member on Made In Chelsea, Nicola Hughes, who is expecting her second child, has shared that she had to be taken to the hospital prematurely for the upcoming birth.

Previously famous television personality, aged 35, disclosed in February that she is pregnant again, this time with her spouse Charlie Tupper. This announcement comes about two years following the birth of their daughter Penelope.

But on Wednesday she took to Instagram to share snaps from A&E amid a concern with her placenta.

She posted a picture taken from her hospital bed, where she shared that her journey from the family home in Spain led her to face health complications in London.

In her post, she mentioned that she hadn’t anticipated our visit to London would end prematurely due to her needing to be hospitalized.

Nicola mentioned: “I haven’t talked a lot about my pregnancy on this platform, but it has been quite distinct from my previous one.

As worries arose about potential detachment of my placenta, I found myself admitted to the hospital. Moments after arriving, I was informed that there was a possibility I might undergo surgery later that same day.

As a lifestyle expert, let me assure you that the anxiety I once felt about the uncertainty of not having a permanent residence in the United Kingdom, with my newborn child residing in Spain, is an experience I hope no one has to endure. It’s crucial to establish a stable and secure living situation for both ourselves and our loved ones, so we can focus on creating meaningful memories without the added stress of geographical challenges.

‘Safe to say I won’t be taking anymore travel risks.’

Her close pal Lottie Moss commented underneath saying: ‘Omg angel.’

‘So glad all is okay,’ her former MIC co-star Tiffany Watson added.

Nicola confirmed she is expecting her second child with her husband Charlie in February.

She shared the thrilling news with her 201,000 followers on Instagram by uploading a delightful video.

In the video, we first saw Nicola show off her growing belly, gently holding it while reclining on her bed, dressed in a yellow lingerie ensemble and a white top.

With an expression of immense joy, she clutched the ultrasound images tightly, just before Charlie tenderly pressed a kiss to her lips.

In a sweet moment, the couple’s two-year-old daughter Penelope joined them on the bed, prompting a warm hug as they snuggled her tightly to conclude an endearing scene captured on video.

‘Growing our little family,’ she sweetly captioned the video. 

The well-known friends of the happy pair didn’t hesitate to rush to the comment area to send their heartfelt congratulations.

Nicole Bass expressed: ‘Beautiful congratulations,’ and Love Island’s Montana Brown exclaimed: ‘Wonderful congratulations!’ (or simply ‘Congratulations, lovely!’)

Nicola and Charlie welcomed their first child together – a daughter Penelope – in October 2022.

In that moment, the popular Irish reality TV personality decided to post a monochrome image on Instagram, showing them tenderly holding their daughter’s little hand as a means of announcing the news.

She wrote in a caption: ‘My heart. Our little Penelope made an early arrival.’

Posting the same shot, Charlie penned: ‘Made it, all thanks to your mumma. Our little Penelope.’

In a charming August 2021 wedding ceremony held at Botleys Mansion in Surrey, the couple exchanged vows, having been together for five years. Nicola’s previous acting colleagues, Lucy and Tiffany Watson, graced the occasion with their presence.

Nicola acknowledged that they needed to adjust their wedding plans because of the Covid-19 limitations at that moment, and the ceremony was scheduled to take place within only six weeks’ time.

Charlie proposed with a dazzling diamond ring during a trip to Ibiza in September 2020. 

Earlier, Nicola commended her husband as ‘quite ordinary’, following an introduction by her Made In Chelsea colleague and former boyfriend, Alex Mytton (aged 31), who once was romantically linked with her.

I’m utterly captivated by this fact: Charlie doesn’t dwell in the realm of fantasy, but rather, he’s as ordinary as an apple pie. In the heart of our city, he runs a thriving recruitment firm. And let me tell you, he’s not just any ordinary guy – he’s downright delightful!

In his wedding speech, Charlie shared that the details of how we started together are a bit blurry since we were both quite tipsy, with him admitting that he was certainly more so, given the circumstances.

Despite the fogginess, I clearly recall Nicola approaching me and engaging in conversation. At the time, I was utterly bewildered, unsure of what was transpiring – was this truly happening? Was she genuinely flirting with me? It seemed too good to be true, I felt incredibly fortunate to find myself in such a serendipitous predicament.

Even though I was quite tipsy having consumed only half of my gin and tonic, the vivid memory of your captivating blue eyes gazing at me will forever stay with me. From that instant, it felt as if I had started developing feelings for you, or perhaps falling over due to my intoxication – I can’t quite recall which.

2015 was when my world turned upside down as I stepped into the limelight on E4’s Made in Chelsea. I had the incredible opportunity to join the cast, being the then girlfriend of the one and only Alex. It was an unforgettable experience that truly skyrocketed me to stardom!

2016 saw her departure from the show, following the collapse of their relationship due to rumors of Alex’s infidelity. He reportedly terminated their relationship through a text message.
