Pregnant Keep It Cleaner founder Laura Henshaw trolled after revealing her birth plan: ‘Too precious to push’

Laura Henshaw is facing online criticism after sharing her decision to have an elective C-section.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always fascinated by how people prepare for such a life-changing moment like having a baby. I recently shared my birthing plan on our KICPOD podcast with my co-host, Steph Claire Smith – it’s something I announced back in June, and we talked through all the details for our listeners!

In the episode, she explained the reasons why she chose a C-section instead of a vaginal birth.

After sharing her news, the expectant mother faced a lot of negative feedback on Instagram. The Shameless Podcast discussed this reaction in their most recent episode, which came out on Friday.

One of the podcast hosts shared that people were incredibly cruel to her online, and she was particularly shocked by one comment.

The hosts were stunned by a comment claiming a woman requested a C-section simply to maintain her physical appearance for her husband.

Another person accused the 32-year-old of being ‘too precious to push‘.

Laura faced some negative comments, but she also received a lot of encouragement. Many followers applauded her honesty and supported her right to make her own decisions.

‘Proud of you for doing what’s right for you my honey,’ one person wrote.

Another added: ‘You do what is best for you Mumma! Your body, your choice.’

Someone else added, ‘Laura, you’re doing great – just keep following your doctor’s advice and doing what feels right for you.’

Laura recently opened up about the moment she found out she was pregnant.

The CEO of KIC, who has openly discussed her uncertainty about wanting children, said she was completely surprised to find out she was pregnant.

She recently shared with Stellar Magazine that she was completely surprised to learn she needed a laparoscopy in May to investigate possible endometriosis.

I had a pretty full life planned – I was training for the London Marathon, scheduled to have a laparoscopy, and then really start thinking about starting a family. It felt like a clear path forward, and I was excited about each step.

And then Laura revealed she missed her period.

The next day, Laura took a pregnancy test. Her husband, Dalton, had a feeling she was pregnant.

She laughed and explained, “There’s no way we’re together. We’d already slept together once the previous month – a quick encounter one morning.”

‘[Then], you know, turn the test around and… we are pregnant.’

Last year, Laura admitted she wasn’t sure she wanted children.

She admitted that turning 31 didn’t bring the sense of preparedness she’d expected. In fact, she told Mamamia, the older she gets, the less prepared she feels.

Laura explained that time was a significant factor in her decision. Turning 30 made her feel like she was running out of time.
