Pregnant Jess Impiazzi, 36, confirms the gender of her ‘miracle’ baby after being told she had the fertility of a 55-year-old and years of ‘constant disappointment’ during IVF battle

Jess Impiazzi has announced she’s expecting a baby girl, sharing the news shortly after revealing her pregnancy.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always inspired by stories of strength and joy, and I was so touched to see the news shared by this incredible 36-year-old! She announced her pregnancy on Instagram, and it’s particularly moving because she achieved this through IVF while also navigating the challenges of chronic lupus. It’s a beautiful reminder that dreams can come true, even with obstacles.

She shared a picture of her scan and a baby announcement onesie, along with a photo of herself holding the scan pictures while showing off her baby bump in lingerie. She captioned the post with a joyful message.

She wrote: ‘It’s been hard keeping this secret, especially as a huge over sharer…

It’s been a tough road, but my husband, @sambird_official, has been with me through all the IVF appointments, shots, and hospital visits. I love him so much!

We’re thrilled to announce we’re expecting a baby boy in May 2026! We’re so excited to meet him. You can find our story, including my struggles with fertility and lupus, in this week’s issue of Closer Magazine. It’s been a challenging journey with lupus and IVF. #lupusfertility #lupus #ivf

Now Jess has confirmed she and her partner Sam Bird are expecting a baby boy.

The expectant mum told Closer magazine: ‘I was convinced I was having a girl.

I realized it’s often really tough being a woman, and I wished I had a son who could introduce me to the experience of motherhood.

I plan to raise my son to be a good person, and I hope that if I have a daughter later on, he’ll protect her from anyone who tries to hurt her.

Jess went on to say she would love more children with Sam, 39, if ‘we are able to’.

In her announcement on Tuesday, Jess revealed she will welcome her first child in May this year.

Jess previously dated Jermaine Pennant up until 2023, soon after which she found love with Sam.

In 2023, she received a lupus diagnosis and later shared her concerns that the condition might cause early menopause and affect her ability to have children.

As a lifestyle expert, I often talk about building the life you dream of, and for many, that includes starting a family. It’s absolutely devastating to learn that becoming a parent might not be possible, especially when you’ve always envisioned it for your future. I recently spoke with someone who shared her heartbreak after receiving difficult news about her fertility. She and her partner had just begun to discuss having children, and understandably assumed they had plenty of time ahead of them. It just highlights how precious and fragile life’s plans can be.

Jess shared that she received a diagnosis of low ovarian reserve in 2023, but she continued pursuing IVF treatment despite this challenge.

Jess recently shared an update with her followers about her IVF process, thanking everyone who reached out after her egg retrieval. She said she wanted to let them know how it went.

Let me tell you, opening up about my struggles hasn’t been simple, but I was truly amazed by how many of you reached out to share similar experiences. Honestly, it’s been incredibly validating and heartwarming to realize I’m not alone, and I’m so grateful for the sense of community we’ve built. Knowing others understand makes all the difference, and your stories have meant the world to me.

As some of you know, I was diagnosed with low ovarian reserve earlier this year, which means I’ll likely experience menopause earlier than expected.

As a lifestyle expert, I often talk about navigating life’s challenges, and recently I faced a big one myself. I found out my AMH level was 0.5, which is really low, especially for someone my age – 34. Honestly, it felt like the rug had been pulled out from under me. I’d always pictured having a family, little ones running around, and suddenly that future felt a lot less certain. It was a really tough moment, and I’m sharing this because so many women go through similar struggles with fertility, and it’s important to know you’re not alone.
