Ellie Goulding and her partner, Beau Minniear, were among the first celebrities to leave BAFTA’s Invest in Talent Gala 2026, held Thursday evening at The Chancery Rosewood in London.
The 39-year-old singer, who is pregnant with her first child, stayed warm in a large, white duvet coat worn over a close-fitting satin and lace dress.
Earlier in the evening, Ellie—who shares four-year-old son Arthur with her ex-husband, Caspar Jopling—looked stunning in a pale pink dress as she walked the red carpet without a coat.
She wore a revealing dress with a low neckline, and layered a close-fitting, see-through gown over it, highlighting her growing baby bump.
Beau, 28, chose not to walk the red carpet, but he looked sharp in a well-fitted suit, a white shirt, and a black tie.
Ellie performed her most popular songs at the gala for a star-studded crowd, as she gets ready to release a new album about her divorce.
The gala happens every two years to raise money for supporting up-and-coming artists in film, gaming, and television.
Last month, David Jonsson and Aimee Lou Wood – both recognized actors, with Jonsson being a 2025 Rising Star nominee – revealed the nominees for the 2026 BAFTA awards.
Following its strong showing at the Academy Award nominations, the film One Battle After Another received a total of 14 nominations, with Leonardo DiCaprio, its lead actor, also being recognized.
Despite receiving a record-breaking number of Oscar nominations, the film ‘Sinners’ came in second at the BAFTAs with 13 nominations.
Marty Supreme and Hamnet were the top performers with eleven points each. Frankenstein and Sentimental Value followed closely with eight points each. I Swear and Bugonia each received five points, and The Ballad of Wallis Island, Pillion, and F1 all earned three points.
Chloe Zhao’s film, Hamnet, based on Maggie O’Farrell’s acclaimed novel about Shakespeare’s family, has received more BAFTA nominations than any other film directed by a woman.
The nominees for Best Film are Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, and Sinners and Sentimental Value, all competing for the night’s top award.
Jessie Buckley, the Irish actress, is gaining momentum during awards season. Having already won a Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award for her performance in Hamnet, she’s now considered a top contender to win both the Oscar and SAG Award next month.
The nominees for Leading Actress include Rose Byrne for her role in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, Kate Hudson for Song Sung Blue, Chase Infiniti for One Battle After Another, Renate Reinsve for Sentimental Value, and Emma Stone for Bugonia.
Although Paul Mescal, who starred alongside Jessie in ‘Hamnet,’ wasn’t nominated for an Oscar, he did receive a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the BAFTAs.
The film received a remarkable 16 Oscar nominations, breaking the previous record of 14, which was held by films like All About Eve, Titanic, and La La Land.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s film, ‘Meanwhile One Battle After Another,’ which follows a former revolutionary looking for his lost daughter, has received 13 Academy Award nominations.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s film received nominations in all four acting categories at the BAFTAs. There’s a strong chance of wins in the Supporting Actor category, with both Sean and Benicio nominated.
Paul has been nominated for Director, and the film has also received nominations for its Adapted Screenplay, Casting, Cinematography, Editing, Original Score, Production Design, and Sound.
Despite receiving no nominations at the Oscars, the film Wicked: For Good earned two nominations at the BAFTAs: one for costume design and another for make-up and hair.
However, the Brazilian thriller The Secret Agent also earned two nominations, which is half the amount it received at the Oscars, where it was recognized in significant categories like Best Actor and Best Picture.
