As a longtime television enthusiast who has witnessed the evolution of small screen entertainment over the decades, I must say this year’s National Television Awards (NTA) promises to be quite the spectacle! The diverse range of nominees across various categories reflects the rich tapestry of talent that graces our screens daily.

Charlotte Dawson, visibly pregnant, made a striking appearance as the front-runner among the celebrities at the National Television Awards held at London’s O2 Arena on a Wednesday night.

The television personality, aged 31, who announced her pregnancy with her third child a month ago, captivated everyone by elegantly wearing a white dress reminiscent of a wedding gown.

Charlotte gleamed with joy and self-assurance, her glowing countenance accentuated by the intricately designed low-neck dress adorned with voluminous ruffles on the sleeves and a tutu-like skirt that mirrored it.

This year, the National Television Awards will be happening at their regular venue, The O2 London in Peninsula Square, and will air live starting at 8 pm on ITV.

Each year since 2010, the NTAs have typically taken place at The O2, except for the postponed 2022 event which moved to Wembley instead.

Comedian Joel Dommett will host the awards ceremony for the fourth time.

This year, Jungle King Sam Thompson along with his companion Pete Wicks will make their debut on the red carpet as presenters for the first time.

There have been whispers that Holly Willoughby may reappear on British television, joining Joel’s presenting crew.

Previously known for hosting This Morning, a 43-year-old woman seems poised to rejoin her former colleagues following her departure from the daytime program in October after a 14-year tenure as co-host.

Her exit occurred shortly after it was discovered that security guard Gavin Plumb had concocted a plan to abduct and murder her, an act for which he was later imprisoned.

As a devoted admirer, I find it quite surprising that my beloved favorites, Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, haven’t been recognized with a National Television Award (NTA) nomination in the Best TV Presenter category despite their exceptional work on This Morning. It’s like they’re being overlooked for the role they play in making my mornings brighter!

The show they’re working on has been nominated in the Daytime awards, but Cat, aged 47, and Ben, aged 49, narrowly failed to win – even though they were recruited by ITV executives in March following the departure of Holly and Phillip Schofield from the program.

In simpler terms, their beloved co-host Alison Hammond, aged 49, has been nominated yet again for the Best TV Presenter category, effectively knocking others out of contention.

Last year, This Morning missed out on the Best Daytime TV award for the first time in 12 years.

In the TV presenter category, Alison will be competing alongside Bradley Walsh, Claudia Winkleman, Stacey Solomon, as well as Ant and Dec, who have held the title for a remarkable 22 years.

In other events, Michelle Keegan achieved a remarkable feat by winning three awards, with one of them being a nomination for Best Drama Performance in the critically acclaimed series, Fool Me Once.

In the thrilling world of adaptations, I proudly stepped into the limelight as the leading lady for Netflix’s rendition of Harlan Coben’s gripping mystery novel in the chilly month of January. It was an unforgettable experience that left me breathless with anticipation!

Michelle has earned recognition for her portrayal of Maya Stern, the military wife who is mourning the loss of her slain husband. A shocking moment occurs when she believes she sees him again, this time appearing on a surveillance camera within her own residence.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the show I’m part of has earned a nomination in the New Drama category. Notably, the hilarious series where I portray Erin Croft, Brassic, has also received a nod in the Best Comedy category. It’s an honor to be recognized alongside such remarkable productions!

Fool Me Once became one of Netflix’s biggest ever hits with over 100million views – and kicked Michelle’s drama career into gear.

This well-known soap actor has received nominations for the National Television Awards on four occasions. Three of these were for his work on Coronation Street, while the fourth was for his role in BBC’s Our Girl.

In addition to recognition, Toby Jones is recognized in the Drama Performance category for portraying Sir Alan Bates, a former subpostmaster who was among over 550 individuals suing the Post Office for legal action.

In a challenging contest, the ITV drama will go up against popular series like Baby Reindeer from Netflix, the romantic dramas One Day and Fool Me Once, as well as Red Eye, all vying for the award.

In the meantime, Jones will face off against actress Jessica Gunning, who has been nominated for the award for best drama performance for her role as Martha Scott in the dark comedy thriller Baby Reindeer. Her character, Martha Scott, pursues comedian Donny Dunn after he gave her a complimentary cup of tea at the pub where he works.

In her category as a TV presenter, Claudia Winkleman faces a formidable competition, with contenders like Alison Hammond, Bradley Walsh, Stacey Solomon, and the seasoned champions Ant and Dec to beat, given that her show The Traitors is also nominated in the Reality Competition category.

The Geordie Duo have won the award 22 times now, and they’ll be chasing their record 23rd victory.

Additionally, they might secure a victory in the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award category since Saturday Night Takeaway is competing against I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, another one of their productions, as well as The Graham Norton Show, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, and The Masked Singer.

Amongst the popular reality shows that fall under the Reality Competition Category at BBC include The Apprentice, Celebrity Big Brother, Love Island, and Race Across The World, along with The Traitors.

In another category, the Serial Drama Performance nomination goes to Peter Ash for his portrayal of Paul Foreman, a character who bravely fought against Motor Neurone Disease.

I, a diehard fan, am set to face off against the formidable quartet: Angela Wynter from EastEnders, David Neilson of Coronation Street, Diane Parish also from EastEnders, and the talented Eden Taylor-Draper from Emmerdale. Quite an intimidating lineup!

David Beckham, a former England football captain, and Robbie Williams, a renowned pop star, are among those nominated in the Authored Documentary category at the NTAs for their Netflix docuseries. Similarly, actress Rose Ayling-Ellis is nominated for her documentary that delves into perceptions of the deaf community, while comedian Rhod Gilbert has been recognized for his work which focuses on his journey through cancer treatment.

As a lifestyle expert, I must share an exciting update about the upcoming shows I am involved with. These programs will be competing against Kate Garraway, who has once again been nominated in the Authored Documentary category for her heartfelt work “Derek’s Story.” This poignant documentary chronicles the final chapter of her late husband’s life, a journey that concluded in January.

Given the increasing number of skilled professionals appearing on television, the National Television Awards (NTA) is reviving the “Expert” category.

This year, popular judge Anton Du Beke has been nominated for an award – a significant milestone as the celebrity dance competition marks its 20th anniversary. Interestingly, his three fellow judges have also made it to the list of potential nominees for this honor.

It seems like the dance show is now starting to recover after being embroiled in several controversies over the past few months.

In the coming 20th season, things have become uncertain due to allegations of abusive conduct against professional dancers Graziano Di Prima and Giovanni Pernice, who were reportedly accused by their celebrity partners. A decision on an investigation into Giovanni’s case is expected soon.

Although the allegations initially raised concerns about the show’s ability to bounce back, it seems that Strictly Come Dancing is gradually overcoming its scandals.

The show has been nominated in the Talent Show category and Anton received an Expert nod.
