Pregnant Aubrey Plaza, 41, seen with partner Christopher Abbott, 40, for the first time since announcing baby joy

Aubrey Plaza and her partner, Christopher Abbott, have been seen together publicly for the first time since they revealed they are expecting a baby.

The White Lotus actress, 41, is pregnant with a baby with actor from Girls, 40. This news comes about a year after the unexpected death of her husband, Jeff Baena, who died by suicide.

On Thursday night, the couple expecting a baby were seen enjoying the opening night party for the Broadway show, Death of a Salesman, and were photographed celebrating.

The couple cosied up at the bash, held at Katz’s Deli in New York City.

The baby, whose gender has not been revealed, is due in the fall.

‘It was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year,’ a source told People.

The couple, who met and fell in love while performing on Broadway, are reportedly overjoyed.

News began circulating that Plaza is pregnant with Abbott’s child, and a source close to the actress later confirmed the report.

Abbott became well-known for his role as Marnie’s sometimes-boyfriend on the popular HBO comedy series, Girls, created by Lena Dunham.

The two actors first collaborated in 2019 on the independent film Black Bear. In the movie, they both played double roles – as performers and as filmmakers attempting to create a movie in a spooky, remote cabin by a lake.

The inexpensive thriller debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2020 and received very positive reviews, with many critics praising it as one of Aubrey Plaza’s strongest performances yet.

In 2023, she reunited with Abbott, this time performing together in a revival of John Patrick Shanley’s play, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, which ran through January 2024.

I spotted Olivia Plaza with her new partner at New York Fashion Week on Valentine’s Day – they were at the Khaite Fall/Winter 2026 show. It was a lovely sight, and they seemed really happy together!

They were photographed sitting together in the front row, with other celebrities like Elizabeth Debicki and Gemma Chan.

Before announcing she was pregnant, Aubrey Plaza had successfully kept her relationship with Will Abbott private.

Last June, someone reported seeing Ana de Armas and Paul Mescal displaying affection at a berry farm in upstate New York, about five months after Ana’s husband had passed away, according to the popular gossip account DeuxMoi.

According to witnesses, she was seen talking to a woman who turned out to be Christina Abbott, the sister of the farm’s owner, right before she shared a post about the event on Instagram.

Over the last fifteen years, Abbott has built a reputation for consistently delivering excellent performances in both TV shows and movies.

Before becoming famous for his part in Girls, Abbott appeared in the critically acclaimed film Martha Marcy May Marlene, alongside Elizabeth Olsen.

He’s also been in several films, such as A Most Violent Year (2014), James White, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (2016) with Tina Fey, and the horror film It Comes At Night (2017).

In 2018, he starred alongside Ryan Gosling as astronaut Dave Scott in the movie First Man, a biography of Neil Armstrong directed by Damien Chazelle, who also directed La La Land.

Abbott is mostly known for working on smaller, independent films. However, he’s also taken on bigger projects, like the 2023 comedy Poor Things with Emma Stone, and he’s currently involved in the upcoming DC Comics movie Kraven the Hunter and a new version of The Wolf Man (both scheduled for release in 2025).

He recently acted with Amanda Seyfried in the historical drama The Testament of Ann Lee and is slated to appear with Florence Pugh in a new Netflix series based on John Steinbeck’s East of Eden.

Plaza is pregnant after a difficult 2025, during which her husband, with whom she was separated, tragically took his own life on January 3rd.

It was subsequently revealed that the couple had separated four months before his untimely death.
