Predicting the stud & dud of UFC 304

As a long-time UFC fan and avid follower of the sport, I’m always excited for major events like UFC 304, especially when they come to London, England. The energy and passion of the crowd here is second to none.

At UFC 304 in London, England, the UFC is back with two title fights in the headline and support bouts, plus a robust undercard and prelims. Packed with skilled veterans and promising newcomers, picking standout and disappointing performances for UFC 304 could be challenging.

At UFC 304, the primary and secondary bouts involve two rematches for the undisputed UFC welterweight and interim UFC heavyweight titles. However, our standout and disappointing picks won’t be participating in these fights. Here’s a preview of who’s likely to have an unforgettable (and forgettable) experience at UFC 304.

UFC 304 stud: Paddy Pimblett

Following Pimblett’s underwhelming victory against Jared Gordon at UFC 282 through a narrow decision, the enthusiasm among fight spectators towards him began to wane. In contrast to the buzz he initially generated during the start of his UFC career, his charisma and fan base had noticeably dwindled.

After his improved showing against Tony Ferguson at UFC 296 in December 2023, it appears that he’s gotten back on course and aims for a spot among the UFC lightweight division’s top fifteen fighters.

At UFC 304, he will go up against Bobby Green, the No. 15-ranked lightweight challenger, who recently defeated Jim Miller in an impressive manner at UFC 300 and has won three out of his last four bouts. It seems that Green, aged 37, is experiencing a late-career renaissance, performing better than ever before.

I’ve been closely following the career of Pimblett, and let me tell you, this guy has been unstoppable since his loss back in September 2018. He was still making waves in Cage Warriors at that time. But here’s the impressive part: even though his last finish victory was in July 2022, he hasn’t let up. He’s managed to rack up an impressive seven consecutive wins inside the Octagon. It’s been a real treat to watch his journey unfold!

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but excitedly anticipate Pimblett’s upcoming match against Green at UFC 304. With his exceptional grappling skills and the undeniable energy of his home crowd behind him, Pimblett is primed to shine yet again in his native land. This electrifying atmosphere will only serve to fuel his determination and deliver an unforgettable performance that will leave us all in awe.

UFC 304 dud: Giga Chikadze

Prior to his defeat by Calvin Kattar in January 2022, Chikadze seemed poised to become the next prominent featherweight contender. However, after this loss, he managed to bounce back with a victory against Alex Caceres. Despite this success, the impressive progression he had made from 2019 to 2021 has noticeably slowed down.

I’d be thrilled if my favorite fighter could reclaim some lost ground with a victory at UFC 304. However, facing off against Arnold Allen won’t be an easy task – it’ll be quite the challenge.

At the UFC in England, Allen boasts an undefeated record of 5-0. His most impressive victory took place there, when he knocked out Dan Hooker in the first round back in March 2022. However, Allen has suffered two straight losses and faces a critical matchup at UFC 304 where a win is essential.

At UFC 304, Chikadze aims to deliver his finest performance yet to secure a win against Allen, who is considered his toughest opponent so far due to his versatile skills. Although Chikadze boasts impressive abilities, Allen’s consistency over three rounds is expected to lead him to another triumph in England.

If Chikadze loses at UFC 304, he will have lost two out of his last three bouts and be moving closer to being excluded from the official rankings. A victory, however, would significantly boost his chances of reaching the championship. Nevertheless, given his upcoming challenge against Allen, who is heavily favored to win, Chikadze’s prospects of success appear quite bleak.
