As a long-time fan of the Predator franchise, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement when I heard that Predator: Hunting Grounds was coming to Xbox Series X|S! Having grown up on the original movies, I can still recall the thrill of the first time I saw Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Dutch being hunted by the invisible alien predator.
Game developer IllFonic has revealed that the game titled “Predator: Hunting Grounds” is set to debut on Xbox Series X|S in October. They’ve also mentioned that there will be three different versions for you to pick.
In April 2020, a multiplayer shooter game with a 4 versus 1 setup was released for both PS4 and PC. This game places one player as a lone Predator while the other four players assume the roles of elite special forces operators, known as a Fireteam. Your objective, as part of the human team, is to carry out paramilitary missions before the Predator catches you, or if you’re feeling daring, try to outwit and catch your Yautja pursuer.
In the role of the Predator, you possess advanced alien technology that allows for stalking, tracking, and ultimately, eliminating your targets. The Xbox release of Predator: Hunting Grounds will initially feature the Feral Predator from the 2022 film Prey as an added bonus. This version comes equipped with a Crossbolt Gun, Combistick, and Shield.
You’ll find the Feral Predator in the Standard Edition, while the Jungle Edition includes the 1997 City Hunter Predator, as well as Samurai, Valkyrie, and Viking Predators equipped with custom weaponry. The Yautja Edition includes all of the above, alongside the DLC Bionic Predator, Cleopatra, Emissary, Exiled, Wolf, Hunting Party (Captured, Falconer and Mr. Black Predators,) Hunting Party 2 (Amazon and Pirate Predators) and Hunting Party 3 (Celtic, Chopper, and Scar Predators), all with custom weaponry.
Predator: Hunting Grounds will be coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on 1st October.
