Okay, so I’ve been hearing tons about the new Predator movie, Predator: Badlands. Apparently, it’s seriously good – ComingSoon.net even said it’s the best one yet! It’s the ninth movie in the whole series, and it hits UK cinemas this Friday, November 7th. I’m really excited to check it out!
The Predator franchise includes several films, starting with Predator (1987) and continuing with Predator 2 (1990), Predators (2010), The Predator (2018), and most recently, Prey (2022). A future installment, Predator: Killer of Killers, is planned for 2025. The series also includes spin-off films like Alien vs Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007).
Featuring Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi and Elle Fanning, Predator: Badlands is set on a dangerous, faraway planet.
What to Read Next
Dek, a young and relatively small Yautja hunter, is exiled from his clan and sets out to prove himself by tracking a dangerous creature on the planet Genna. Along the way, he unexpectedly teams up with Thia, a human-like synthetic created by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation.
The movie is currently rated ‘Certified Fresh’ on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 90%, making it the third best-reviewed film in the Predator series. Predator: Killer of Killers leads with 95%, followed closely by Prey at 94%.

Director Dan Trachtenberg is receiving widespread acclaim for his latest film. Variety called it the best “Predator” movie since the original 1987 film, even better than Trachtenberg’s previous installment, “Prey.”
According to Time Out, the latest installment skillfully plays with established series rules, adding intrigue without diminishing the main character’s frightening presence. They believe Trachtenberg is consistently enhancing the franchise with each new release.
According to The Wrap, Predator: Badlands is a fantastic example of mainstream sci-fi action, just like Prey was. The review highlights that it’s a rare, high-budget action movie that actually delivers and doesn’t disappoint.

In a recent interview with PA News Agency, Fanning explained why she joined the project, saying she was a big fan of Dan Trachtenberg’s film Prey and considered it excellent.
I found this story incredibly original – I hadn’t seen anything quite like it before. There were even hints of Star Wars influence; we actually drew inspiration from Chewbacca and C-3PO when designing the characters’ backpacks. I especially loved the director’s creative approach. Ultimately, a strong director and a compelling story are all that matter to me, regardless of genre.
Predator: Badlands will premiere in UK cinemas on Friday, 7 November.
