Power’s Ghost season 4 just broke a major all-time viewing record
As a seasoned gamer of TV series, having witnessed the rise and fall of many, I must say that the success story of Power Book II: Ghost is truly remarkable. With over 10.5 million viewers across various platforms, it has not only broken viewership records but also become the highest-rated cable program in Black households – a feat to be reckoned with!
Power Book II: Ghost has just broken a big viewership record with its fourth and final season.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share the excitement over the phenomenal success of the Power spinoff series focusing on Ghost’s son Tariq St Patrick, portrayed brilliantly by Michael Rainey Jr. This captivating tale has garnered an unprecedented level of interest, boasting an average viewership of over 10.5 million viewers across various platforms! Even 90 days after its premiere, the buzz around this series remains strong, proving it to be a true fan favorite.
The newly released show, airing in two segments, has garnered the title of highest-rated cable program among African American households for both its separate premieres.
In important U.S. markets such as Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Chicago, and Los Angeles, the latest episode (episode 8, ‘Higher Calling’) ranked first among Black households.
The outlook appears favorable for the expanded “Power” universe, as it’s anticipated that more viewers will tune in for the series finale, set to air on October 4th.
In total, the original series Power, along with its offshoots Ghost, Raising Kanan, and Force, have collectively amassed a staggering view time of 1.6 billion hours worldwide.
In the second half of “Ghost,” which debuted recently, there are signs of an impending violent confrontation between Tariq and his close associate and partner in business, Brayden Weston, played by Gianni Paolo.
In the summary for season 4, it’s stated that when Brayden begins dabbling in a carefree and risky way of life, Tariq ponders whether there’s truly enough space for both of them to be at the top.
Meanwhile, Power spinoff Force has been confirmed to end with the upcoming third season.
Actor Joseph Sikora, who plays protagonist Tommy Egan, shared his thoughts on recent developments, stating that while they were preparing for season 3, they came to understand that they were unfolding a “completely conclusive narrative.
He expressed on Instagram that this was an ideal moment for us to remain faithful to our artistic vision, wrapping up Tommy’s story in Chicago. However, he hinted that Tommy’s adventure is far from completed.
Power Book II: Ghost airs on Starz in the US and on MGM+ available via Prime Video in the UK.
