Power Rangers actor admits to Idaho parking lot assault on man with walker
Actor Hector David Rivera from Power Rangers admitted guilt for a misdemeanor battery charge this week, regarding an altercation he had with a man using a walker in a parking lot in Nampa, Idaho back in July of last year.
In Canyon County Court, as per reports from TMZ after examining court records, Rivera, aged 35, was given a 180-day prison sentence. However, Judge Matthew B. Schelstrate decided to withhold 135 days of this sentence.
As a die-hard fan of Hector David Jr., also known as Rivera, I can’t help but feel a sense of anxious anticipation. It seems that he needs to keep his nose clean and steer clear of any trouble, or else his time in custody could extend beyond the 45 days he is currently scheduled for. This information comes straight from a reliable source.
Born in Connecticut, Rivera received a sentence that included two years of supervised probation and a requirement to complete 100 hours of community service.
Rivera gained fame by playing the role of the Green Ranger, a character from the revamped version of the well-loved children’s television series, as well as various video games.
On July 26, 2024, as earlier reported by KTVB, the Nampa Police Department stated that during an incident, Rivera had an argument with a man in his sixties over a parking space, after which Rivera approached him.
According to The Idaho Statesman’s report from August, it was Rivera who had first parked in a disabled parking space, which apparently sparked the argument. This conclusion was drawn upon examination of the case records.
The video displayed Rivera charging toward the individual, subsequently pushing him on the shoulder, causing him to tumble and his walker to follow suit.
Later, Rivera could be observed gesturing angrily towards the man lying on the ground, followed by him quickly getting into his vehicle and leaving, as the news outlet stated.
Police said he drove away following the dispute.
The victim was helped up and was not hurt.
In a statement released then on Twitter, authorities indicated that at precisely 11:45 AM, right outside District 208, a man seen in the following footage shoved an older gentleman to the pavement after a brief verbal altercation over a parking dispute.
Following his action of shoving the man to the ground, the alleged offender departed, leaving the man there. Subsequently, he got into a lifted black pickup truck with four doors and a Texas license plate, then drove off.
The police displayed a picture of Rivera wearing a New England Patriots football jersey as part of their attempts to recognize him.
Following this incident, Rivera was accused of battery several days later. He pleaded not guilty when faced with the battery charges, as reported by the newspaper in August upon examination of the case documents.
Officer Erick Moore from Nampa stated that using social media significantly sped up their process of identifying Rivera as the potential culprit in the event.
In simple terms, Moore stated to The New York Times in July that our community doesn’t just back us, but they also assist us in pursuing individuals who break the law. They managed to aid us significantly in quickly identifying the culprit.
Besides numerous television roles, Rivera also starred in Percy Jackson & The Olympians, The Wedding Saga (Father of the Bride), and The Kind-Hearted Gents (The Merry Gentlemen).
Nampa, which has a population of more than 100,000 people, sits about 20 miles west of Boise.
