Post Malone keeps going country at Coachella
On Sunday evening, Post Malone concluded the initial weekend of this year’s Coachella event by delivering a 90-minute set where he transformed some of his popular pop-rap tunes into rustic country melodies.
Strutting onto the stage with a red plastic cup and a cigarette in hand, the 29-year-old singer, who had made waves in Nashville after the success of “F-1 Trillion” in 2024 following years of ruling pop and hip-hop radio, commenced his performance with country-style versions of “Texas Tea,” “Wow,” and “Better Now.” These tunes seemed fitting for a stage like Coachella’s rustic counterpart, Stagecoach, where indeed Malone initiated his country music journey the previous year.
“I apologize for being pitchy,” he said later in the show. “Auto-Tune is a hell of a drug.”

Music
Over the initial three days of the festival, it concluded on Sunday with an illustrious showcase by Megan Thee Stallion, a standalone act from Jennie of Blackpink, among other captivating performances.
Clad in snug denim jeans and a well-worn cap, Malone maintained his modest demeanor while performing classic tunes such as “Go Flex,” “Goodbyes,” “Lemon Tree,” and “Psycho,” the latter of which saw him howling on his knees. He also presented solo interpretations of some country songs from “F-1 Trillion,” like “I Had Some Help” (originally featuring Morgan Wallen), “Losers” (originally featuring Jelly Roll), and “M-E-X-I-C-O” (originally featuring Billy Strings).
Contrary to the abundance of friends he has in Nashville, Malone chose not to invite any surprise performers during his show on Friday. This mirrors the choices made by this year’s fellow headliners, Lady Gaga and Green Day, who each appeared solo with only Gesaffelstein as a collaborator for Lady Gaga and Green Day performing without any guests.
Before concluding his performance with “Sunflower,” Post Malone addressed the crowd, sharing a small inspirational message. He reminded them about the times when many people doubted him, labeling him as just a “one-hit wonder.
Check him out now, it’s hard to believe, but he transformed from a rap artist into a country musician performing at the peak of pop music festivals.
