Post Malone enjoys a legal victory in complicated child custody case with ex-fiancee Jamie Park

This week, Hee Sung ‘Jamie’ Park, previously engaged to Post Malone, submitted a petition in Los Angeles to terminate the ongoing child custody proceedings.

In this case, Post’s decision to terminate the proceedings is seen as a victory because California permits larger child support payments, yet their court fight continues.

The rapper-turned-country star, 30, and Hee Sung welcomed their daughter in 2022.

In November 2024, the pair parted ways following the second birthday of their daughter. At that time, both parties submitted custody requests in the states of Utah and California.

This occurs shortly after his separation from girlfriend Christy Lee, which followed swiftly after the end of his relationship with his baby mama.

The ongoing dispute over child custody will persist in the state of Utah, as this is where Post has been sharing custody equally (50/50) with his former partner, acting as an active father, according to TMZ.

That’s where Park had been living before she moved to California at the beginning of the year.

In the past couple of months, as a lifestyle expert looking at this situation, I’ve been closely following the developments regarding the musician and his legal battle over custody. He recently made a heartfelt plea in court, aiming to get a Los Angeles judge to dismiss his ex’s lawsuit filed in California.

As an unwavering fan, I can tell you that in her initial submission, Park requested shared legal custody and visitation rights from the rapper. However, her deepest desire was to secure primary physical custody herself.

In May, the Grammy-nominated artist, who’s had many people talking about his weight loss, asked the court to dismiss his case. He claimed that the mother of the child filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles for what he saw as tactical benefits during their legal dispute.

Laura Wasser, his lawyer, highlighted to the court that the young girl in question already has several significant connections to Utah.

In addition to her nanny and pediatrician, she has also attended courses for music, physical education, and swimming. This information was presented by the attorney during court proceedings, as detailed in the legal documents.

In the legal papers that Park submitted recently to the family law division of the Los Angeles Superior Court, she has chosen to call their daughter by the initials DDP.

As an over-the-moon fanatic, I find myself sharing the news that the child’s mom has applied for complete physical custody. Yet, in terms of legal matters, she’s only advocating for shared control and is even open to arranging visitation sessions – you might call it ‘parenting time’.

In late 2024, it was said that Park separated from Post. Now, in newly filed court papers, she asserts that DDP has been residing with her since November, according to TMZ.

In her recent court submission, she requested that her former partner should reimburse her for the legal expenses, and it was disclosed that their child was born in May of last year.

Regarding child support, she stated that the court has the authority to establish child support orders and instruct employers to withhold payments directly from the earning without giving additional notice to either party.

It appears that the post is said to have already filed sealed custody papers in Utah, which is where he primarily resides, however, there’s no word back from him regarding Park’s latest submission.
