Porsche Teases New 963 RSP Hypercar

Summary

  • Porsche teases new hypercar: the 963 RSP
  • A one-off endurance project that could also be road legal
  • Thought to be named after Roger S. Penske

Porsche has formally revealed the title for its enigmatic, possibly street-legal endurance vehicle: the 963 Racing Sports Prototype.

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that I was tantalizingly teased with a unique ASMR-style video revealing a one-off hypercar modeled after the victorious 963 endurance racer, which has already secured back-to-back wins at the 24 Hours of Daytona. This captivating short film offers an intimate glimpse into the meticulous craftsmanship of Porsche artisans as they stitch custom upholstery, sand carbon-fiber panels, and apply paint by hand. The video reaches its climax with the installation of a genuine Porsche crest on the hood, a striking change from the lightweight sticker badge used on the race car.

It’s anticipated that the upcoming Porsche model, the RSP, will follow a similar high-performance twin-turbo V8 hybrid engine as its track-only counterpart. Additionally, rumor has it that the RSP name might be an homage to Roger S. Penske, who manages Porsche’s successful endurance racing program. It’s speculated that only one 963 RSP will be produced, and its release may coincide with the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 14.

In the meantime, check out the teaser for yourself below.
