As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been hooked on Bosch: Legacy, the gripping cop show starring TV’s grumpiest detective, who’s known for his gruff demeanor and unmatched dedication to justice. The series has made a comeback on streaming platforms after its final season dropped, climbing back up the charts once again!
The show on Prime Video, titled “Bosch” sequel series, features Titus Welliver as the main detective who is still working on solving crimes in Los Angeles. This season is inspired by Michael Connelly’s 2022 novel, “Desert Star,” which serves as its basis.

I couldn’t believe it when I saw that it had soared up to the 7th spot on their UK and Ireland charts within days of its release – a clear testament to its enduring appeal. What an incredible ride it has been!
The response from critics has been overwhelmingly favorable, with all three reviews on Rotten Tomatoes praising the show so far. Collider found it to be an impressive finale, while FandomWire called it a thrilling procedural that serves up a satisfying dose of justice.
Praise for the initial two seasons has been universally laudatory, earning a flawless 100% approval across 24 reviews. Viewers have also shown enthusiasm, with the first season garnering a 90% rating and the second a 80%.
According to Rotten Tomatoes’ critical consensus for the first season, “the crankiest TV detective manages to maintain his influence effectively,” as the revival continues directly from the original series while “satisfactorily adjusting the format.
As “Bosch: Legacy” approaches its end, the main character’s screen journey isn’t over yet. Titus Welliver’s detective is set to make a comeback in an upcoming spin-off series, which will be based on one of Connelly’s other literary characters, Renée Ballard.
In the upcoming series, Maggie Q portrays Ballard, who heads the Cold Case Division, a novel department manned by volunteers grappling with financial struggles. Upon discovering a complex plot, she seeks assistance from her trusted confidant Harry Bosch to bring down key figures involved.
