The Equalizer has been cancelled by CBS after five seasons, with its axing leaving fans furious.
The updated crime drama, a revival from the ’80s, revolves around Robyn McCall (played by Queen Latifah), who employs her vast talents to act as a protective force for New York City, safeguarding those in need.
After a successful run spanning five seasons, the first of which debuted in 2021, Variety reports that CBS has decided to end the show. The final episode airing on May 4th will mark the conclusion of the entire series.
Latifah shared the exciting news via a post on Instagram, stating: “Landing an amazing role like Robyn exceeded all my expectations. Shakim [Compere] and I at Flavor Unit are always thrilled to develop such roles and projects, and we can only hope that you enjoy them as much as we do.
The Equalizer exceeded all our expectations, and the chance to continue it for five whole seasons is almost unbelievable. A big thank you goes out to our incredible cast, hardworking crew, dedicated producers, and talented writers! I can’t stress enough how much we appreciate our fans!

Dear fans, your unwavering loyalty, thunderous support, and unyielding devotion never cease to amaze me. It’s because of you that we continue on this journey. Words cannot express our gratitude; your love means the world to us. Rest assured, I won’t be gone for long – I’ll soon be back with something fresh and exciting! Can’t wait to unveil it together. Love always, QL ❤️
