Poppy Delevingne’s Lavish Baby Shower: A-list Guests, Royal Touches, and Surprises!

Last week, Poppy Delevingne had an elegant baby shower, gearing up for the arrival of her firstborn child within just a few days.

Last Friday, a pink-themed party in London was attended by a 38-year-old model and actress, along with her close friends and relatives. This event was jointly organized by Violet Von Westenholz, who is known to be the matchmaker for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Among the attendees were Poppy’s siblings – high-profile model Cara and midwife Chloe, as well as her parents – real estate developer Charles and philanthropist Pandora.

Poppy was taken aback when she learned that her sister Cara, living in Los Angeles and known for her hectic schedule, would actually make it to visit.

Alice Naylor-Leyland, a homeware stylist, expressed delight when she called her encounter with someone “the most unexpected pleasure” after posting a photo on Instagram of them in an embrace.

In her social media post featuring a cute picture of Meghan (the woman whom Prince Harry confirmed in his book, “Spare,” introduced him to), Violet wished her a joyful baby shower with the message, ‘Congratulations on your baby shower, darling.’

At Poppy’s gathering, the crowd also featured Ella Richards – a model known for her association with Keith Richards, Alexa Chung, Jaime Winstone – an actress who is the child of Ray Winstone, Lady Clara Paget, and Sophia Hesketh, who is a fashion stylist and happens to be the daughter of Lord Hesketh, a former Conservative Party treasurer.

At the event, Sienna Miller, who used to be his partner, wasn’t present, even though she had been seen in London only a few hours beforehand.

43-year-old actress spent the previous night in the city with her partner, Oli Green (age 28), attending PR specialist Fran Cutler’s birthday celebration.

For Poppy’s party, the location, a house in West London, was adorned with balloons in shades of pink and white, each bearing the name ‘Peanut’, a loving nickname for her unborn child. Pink candles and numerous flamingo figurines of life-size added charm to the decor.

However, the real showstoppers were the exquisite pink and white blossoms, artfully arranged by society florist Willow Crossley. Notably, she was the one who designed the floral decorations for Harry and Meghan’s evening reception at Frogmore House during their 2018 wedding.

Poppy and her friends enjoyed a meal with lighter dishes, then savored a Victoria sponge cake that showcased Poppy in the act of childbirth, all set against a pink backdrop.

As the lifestyle connoisseur I am, I must share an intriguing tale about a cake brief that veered from the ordinary. At a recent gathering I had the pleasure of assisting with organization, this cake brief was anything but typical. Unusual it may have been, yet its deliciousness was undeniable as Poppy herself confirmed the following morning when she admitted to devouring a slice for breakfast.

Last autumn, during the London Fashion Week, Poppy found out she was expecting. This realization came about during her second fitting for a Burberry show, which happened two weeks after the initial session. Upon noticing that her attire felt more restrictive than it did previously, she immediately conducted a pregnancy test.

‘She really is all I’ve ever wanted,’ she told ELLE in January. 

It’s clear that it wouldn’t have mattered much to me in the past, but when I became pregnant, I initially assumed I wouldn’t know about it. However, as soon as we were given the option to find out, we decided to do so.

‘I’m so excited. I come from all girls, we’re very girl heavy. Girls are great.’

She shared that her sisters were extremely excited upon hearing the news, further stating: ‘It seems like such an incredible honor to be able to do this – to have a baby at this stage in my life, and at this moment in time. When it occurred, I couldn’t fully grasp it. It still feels incredibly unreal.’

Poppy was previously married to aviation businessman James Cook for eight years. 

In the year 2014, they got married at St Paul’s Church located in Kensington, London. The attendees at their wedding included personalities like Alexa Chung, Georgia May Jagger, Princess Beatrice, Sienna Miller, and Suki Waterhouse.

In September last year, Poppy finally spoke up about their separation, expressing that she will maintain a positive connection with James moving forward.

She expressed: “There’s an abundance of love and regard between us, but unfortunately, it stopped functioning effectively for us. We met when I was 20 years old, and spending 15 years together is quite remarkable… I believe that spending 15 years with someone is a testament to success.

Occasionally, such events must conclude. Once it wrapped up, there was a surge of liberation, as if I was young and full of life once more.

James has advanced to a new chapter in his life. Recently, he became engaged to Lauren Brown, a photographer’s agent, during their vacation in Bhutan earlier this month. According to Lauren, the journey was like a true-life fairytale.
