Pop Sensation Mika Teases ‘Euphoric’ New Album Inspired by TV Show Pianists!

90s icon Mika recently disclosed that he’s covertly been creating fresh tunes, which will see the light of day by the end of this year.

41-year-old vocalist will be back for the third season of Channel 4’s program “The Piano” this coming Sunday, joining Claudia Winkleman and fresh mentor Jon Batiste in the process.

He shared that these gifted, self-taught pianists had sparked his creativity, leading him to compose his latest album entirely on his own – a first since his chart-topping debut album Life in Cartoon Motion in 2007.

To The Sun, Mika revealed that fresh tunes are on the way for this year. This is an album he penned entirely by himself. He can’t quite pinpoint the reason for his decision, but it’s a move he hasn’t made since his debut album.

First, I created the whole piece on the piano. Later, I shared it with individuals specializing in psychedelic dance music from Ibiza. After receiving their input, I completed the work.

Ultimately, what I got was something brimming with radiant happiness, vibrant colors, and catchy tunes.

The last album by the artist who became famous for hits like Grace Kelly was launched in France in 2023, following his release of My Name Is Michael Holbrook, his final English album, in 2019.

In response to witnessing exceptional UK pianists on The Piano, he exclaimed, “Well, I realized, ‘You know what? Just a piano and a few concepts can spark an extraordinary performance!’

The talent show sets up cameras for amateur musicians, inviting them to play on the street pianos located at train stations across the nation.

Intriguingly, I’m sworn to secrecy about the competition, but behind the scenes, the judges are meticulously selecting the top acts for a grand finale at the prestigious Royal Festival Hall. I can barely contain my excitement!

The program had its premiere as Channel 4’s top-rated new format since 2017, drawing approximately 2.7 million viewers on average. In a moving finale, blind and autistic child Lucy Illingworth delivered the standout performance, ultimately winning the competition.

Last year, Mika shared with the Mail’s Weekend magazine that the show isn’t typical of talent shows. In fact, he described it as more of an “opposite” or “anti-talent show.”

As he detailed the significance of the instrument to himself, he confessed, “I’ve been playing piano for my entire life, yet I don’t read sheet music.

‘I don’t use sheet music when I play; instead, I go by what feels right in the moment. This approach can be surprisingly easy to pick up, and it might just transform your life. You know, the piano has been my means of self-expression – it’s given me a voice.’

In no time, Mika’s name became widely recognized following the phenomenal success of his debut album “Life In Cartoon Motion.” The album, which sold a staggering six million copies worldwide, immediately topped charts in the UK and an impressive eleven other countries, all the way back in 2007.

This star gained popularity through his infectious pop melodies and distinctive high-pitched voice, and later released the follow-up album “The Boy Who Knew Too Much” in 2009, which included the hits “We Are Golden” and “Blame It On The Girls.
