Pokémon’s Creepiest Plushies Are Taking Over the Pokémon Center!
While shopping for your next Pokemon item on the official Pokemon Center website, you’ll find an abundance of irresistible items, ranging from cuddly Pikachu plushies to sleek home decor pieces. But every now and then, the Pokemon Center surprises us with something that strays slightly from its signature adorable style. This latest release might just push it over the edge!
Currently, you can directly visit the Pokémon Center’s website. Upon arrival, you’ll find an assortment of surprising characters on the homepage – more precisely, one character in different forms. That’s right, Ditto, the famous Pokémon known for mimicking other Pokémon, is waiting to secretly enter your home through several new Ditto plush toys. These toys show Ditto transformed into some of your beloved Pokémon!
Pokémon Center’s Ditto Plushies Are More Creepy Than Cute
From Mew To Snorlax, Ditto’s Face Is Everywhere You Look
Let me make this clear: I genuinely appreciate Ditto as a unique Pokémon. Its tiny, endearing eyes and simple smile are quite charming on the pink blob. However, when it comes to placing that face onto Pokémon known for their individual distinct features, those eyes start to feel less cute and more like they’re peering into my soul with an unsettling smirk. Now, in this new collection, you can choose from various beloved Pokémon, all featuring the same unnerving expression.
Interestingly enough, Ditto transformations weren’t initially intended to be this way in the Pokémon universe. If you recall watching the Pokémon anime during your childhood, there was an episode featuring a Ditto that retained its face when it transformed. This was a point of discussion in the episode, as it went against what Ditto was supposed to do while transforming, and it was considered a problem. However, to make Ditto transformations more recognizable, this concept seems to have been abandoned, and now, keeping its face has become the standard for Ditto transformation depictions in cards, plushies, and other media.
This newest development leads us to the recent influx, where the Pokémon Center has been inundated by Ditto’s visage on popular Pokémon, transforming what was once a haven for charming Pokémon memorabilia into an eerie scene reminiscent of my nightmares. It’s almost as if another recent trend in the Pokémon community has come knocking at our doorsteps. If you frequently encounter Pokémon-themed content on social media, you might have stumbled upon the popular Where’s Ditto videos, where a repetitive video showcasing numerous identical Pokémon will hide one with a Ditto face for viewers to locate.
As you carefully examine the faces one by one in a lineup, it’s quite surprising when you unexpectedly come across small black dots that seem to be gazing back at you – these are, of course, Ditto. And just as people often express a sense of discomfort once they’ve identified Ditto, you might experience the same sensation while searching for an endearing Mew plush on the Pokémon Center site. Now, instead of finding pure delight in your search, there’s a chance you could stumble upon Ditto’s blank stare on a Mew plush amidst a crowd of cute and regular Mew plushies – a surprising find indeed!
Ditto Versions Of Pokémon Are Funny, But I Don’t Want One In My House
Between Terrifying Ditto Faces & Life-Size Pokémon, I Don’t Know What’s Next For Pokémon Plushies
Given my fondness for Ditto, I find humor in these eerie plush toys, but their expressionless stares would be too unsettling while I’m working, unwinding, or trying to sleep, especially the Magikarp ones that seem particularly scary. Being easily startled, these plushies might scare me more than entertain me. However, it’s not just them; Pokémon offers other plush toys equally terrifying in their unique ways.
It’s almost as unsettling as Ditto’s face from any angle to discover that the Pokémon Center also provides a human-sized plush toy. Alongside its life-size Gardevoir plush, they are soon planning to add their life-size Eeveelution collection. It seems that now you, too, might find yourself startled whenever you enter a dark room at home and encounter a large figure standing there. I thought everyone had agreed that life-sized decor was a questionable trend following the Cardboard Cutouts fad a few years back, but it appears not everyone shares this view.
No matter what, if these Ditto plush toys seem to talk to you, then I’m pleased the Pokémon Center produced them. It’s a common quirk of Pokémon to primarily release plushies and merchandise centered around popular characters. Since my preferred character is indeed popular, I have a wide variety to pick from. Unfortunately, those who favor less common characters might find themselves with limited choices, only a few items available in the market.
viewing an assortment of goods at the Pokémon Center online store is always a positive aspect, even if this collection mainly caters to popular characters among fans. I can only hope that the shop continues to experiment with unique and diverse items in the future, ensuring that no matter your preferred Pokémon or style of Pokémon-themed decoration, there’s something appealing for everyone to appreciate.
